First: This proves my theory once and for all.
I think very much that Audi's S models are more or less useless, They cost's so much and are just halfway car's.. They have noe directly rivals (tha's something that makes them "speciale" ) STUPID this test show's why!
and the only S that can live up to the S is the S1 It's nothing in the world like that S!!! Nothing!

Ha!.. Look at the topspeed for the S6 - just noticed it LOL..
 
the scoring system is a little weird, but i think it's fair enough, audi got 3 becuz it's bread-and-butter a4 is at the end of its life cycle, which counts for 2 points in the comparision, a4/s4 vs. 3/335. and they comopared m5 with s6 and if we change that to rs6 im sure the resuilt will be a little different. one thing tho, is the older bmw x5 beat the newer q7, i think that is interesting.

Jup - Q7 failed.. It's not sporty enough (we are waiting for the new sport suspension from the V12 TDI)

and all the Audi's are based on old models.. (not A6)

Shows that Audi are really serious now
and the result stands with the coming cars
i will take the new M3 over RS4 and new X5 over Q7
but on the other hand i would probably take the A4 and coming RS6 over the bimmers

Well, then you also have to take the up-coming M3 instead of the old M3 vs RS4. Also, while in performace, the M cars and RS are comparable, in price the M cars are closer to the S cars than RS (at least in the US), which brings me to my point, you get much more performance for the buck with M.

How so? The RS4 is $66K and the upcoming M3 is said to be around $63K or so, while the S4 is $47K. Not really closer. And you get two more doors and more space for $3K.
 
Q7's was never built to be compared to a X5, so who cares? It's focus group is the GL, Escalade, and Range Rover!

I'm gonna piss alot a people off with this one but am I the only person who never felt it fair that the RS4, and C55 was compared to the M3? IT'S A COUPE!!:t-crazy2: For the M3 new or old to loss to either is disgraceful IMHO! When the four door comes out then get at me!;)

Why the hell would anyone compare the M5 with more than a small car's HP to a S6? The fact that it's being done only benefits Audi not BMW! I'm sure it will be as quite as a church mouse when the RS6 hit's the streets!:D

yes i am sure everytime they compare m5 with s6 they use the 400hp mode of m5. :D

I'm not a Audi a fan, I'm a fan of great cars which rightfully deserve credit when it's due! Another thing, if the 4matic was more capable than Quattro you can trust their would be a video out proving such, no such video, no such prove, because it's not as capable!

That's good they offer both, so I look forward to hearing about how the 400HP M5 crushes the S6, as it stands now I've heard no such claim!:D

4Matic vs. Quattro, hands down the Quattro is far more capable, how do I know? Because if the 4Matic was more capable than the Quattro their would be video prove of it!:D

The S range puts Audi in a dilemma (I think I've mentioned it before). The S6 is a clear example of a 'halfway' car - one that's not as hardcore as the M5 not as comfortable as the E63. The RS6 would have been a fairer comparison. But I guess the magazine has to make do with what it has now.

IMO the S6 is on a similar playing field as the 550i and the E500, just with a bit more exclusivity and badging. :usa7uh:

It doesnt kill it, and it is not too eclusive. For $10K more you get almost a hundred more horsepower, better handling, and a sportier car as a whole.

The S brand is essential for Audi. It is the accessible sports car, its the bridge between the standard luxury car(A) and the all out sports car(RS). Without the S you have to pay +/- $30k over the standard model just to achieve a performance car.

If you ask me, I'm actually rather keen on an S6 if the price isn't too far off from a 550i or a E500. It may neither be extremely sporty nor comfortable but I might pay for the name and exclusivity. Who else has a V10 A6? :eusa_danc

I guess what Julius was pointing at was that S cars didn't live up to their name. Granted, it's good marketing but does it live up to the hype? I'm quite sitting on the fence on this one - half of me says to name the S4 a A4 4.2, and half of me lusts for the S4. :eusa_thin
 
I'm still waiting for the four door M3, RS4 comparison! As I stated earlier, I never subscribed to the whole coupe verse sedan thing, it's kinda silly. Know matter what the sedan wins, merely because it has know business being compared to a coupe!:t-hands:
