For fun Stupid / Funny Videos Thread

Humor, memes, lighthearted discussions, random fun, and entertaining finds.
So, 24 hours ago I recorded and then posted a video on YouTube. It's of a British newsreader interviewing the Estonian president, Toomas Hendrik Ilves. Unfortunately the newsreader introduced him as "Mr Hendrik", which is the same as calling Barack Obama "Mr Hussein".

I didn't expect it to go viral, but it has. It now has nearly 430,000 views and it's only been on YouTube for 24 hours. I did a Google search and it's been mentioned on news sites all over the world.

That President clearly looked pissed off and annoyed the Newsreader made a blunder with his name, pulling his specs off his face and the ear piece out! Hilarious!

The President acted like a baby.

He did the interview a few minutes later. I personally would find it rude if a newsreader couldn't even be bothered to get my name correct. Sky News is a tabloid, low-rent news station owned by Rupert Murdoch if that helps.

I do agree that the newsreader is not professional enough - he should have been prepared, and his mistake is unacceptable.

But, Mr President cannot allow himself to be shaken by that kind of insults - he must be stoic, a rock. If he makes a fuss about this kind of thing, how will he deal with larger challenges in leading the country? Also, that makes him look very egoistic, but the world does not go around him, and if some newsreader made a mistake about his last name - who cares. Life goes on. It seems Mr President cannot deal with the fact that he is not that important in this world, for everyone to remember his name.

There are better ways of dealing with those glitches - Novak Djokovic, a tennis player, being called a Croat instead of Serbian at the ceremony few years ago immediately comes to my mind. During the ceremony man presenting him the award made an oversight, telling Djokovic comes from Croatia, and causing the audience to roar in shock. When he took the microphone however, Djokovic corrected the man, and then added that his mistake was probably NOT intentional, and that there is no need to make a fuss about it.

As I've said, the reporters behavior is rude and disrespectful - but a president should be more classy than that.
