I'm not sure this is entirely genuine, but I'll post it anyway.
Not really stupid or funny, but thought some people would find it interesting anyway.
This is a two minute visualisation of a day in the life of air traffic control over the UK. I control slightly to the East of the UK and cover continental Europe, but a lot of what we handle involves the major airports in London, Frankfurt, Paris and Amsterdam, and we control about the same number of aircraft; about 5,500 per day.
A few interesting bits in the video; right at the start you can see the Trans-Atlantic flights coming overnight from North America to Europe in one big swarm. And then towards the end at 2:00, you can see the helicopters flying between the East coast of Scotland from Aberdeen to the oil rigs and gas platforms. Aberdeen is the World's busiest heliport.
