For fun Stupid / Funny Videos Thread

Neither stupid or funny, but still :nailbiting:

This is Skiathos, a Greek island. It has a VERY small airport with a very short and narrow runway. Only Captains of flights are allowed to fly the aircraft for the approach and landing. There is no approach lighting and it's entirely visual with no electronic aids. Combining the runway width (30m) with the short landing distance available, the incline and the inevitable heat haze from 32C summer days, it makes for an interesting approach. There is also persistent low level wind shear below 500ft as the wind whips around high ground to the north west of the airfield. There can often be intense bird activity to the east of the threshold and any excursion at the other end will result in a brief cross country jaunt onto one of Skiathos' popular beaches.
This particular approach was lower than normal and indeed was investigated afterwards. The pilots were exonerated and "did the best they could under the circumstances".

Enjoy!

The England national football team played a World Cup warm up match last night against Peru at Wembley, and it must have been so boring that the crowd decided to entertain themselves by making paper aeroplanes. This one flew particularly well......

Creative Anti Drunk Driving Ads Show Alcohol Has the Power of a Gun

Have you been to the pub for a couple of drinks with your friends and though you’re OK to drive home? Well think again, as even a little alcohol can severely dull your senses and judgement skills to the point where you’re far more likely to have a car crash.

Governments all over the world are doing what they can to enforce strict drunk driving laws. But raising awareness is equally as important.

The Don’t Drive Drunk Foundation has asked the Leo Burnett Thailand agency to create these powerful and creative prints in order to sensiblize the public to the dangers they’re subjecting themselves to. The message is as clear as it is graphic, drinking and driving is like putting a gun to your head and pulling the trigger yourself.

Leo Burnett seems to be at the center of the fight against DUI. A year ago, the London division was asked to create the “Think!” video for the Government's road-safety campaign run by the Department of Transport. In it, a mannequin is thrown against the other side of a mirror to show people in a bathroom what it’s like to hit a pedestrian and have him go through the windshield.

Alcohol can affect your driving in many ways: reduced vision, slow reaction times, reduced concentration, a feeling of relaxation which could result in sleep, failure to obey roar rules and a feeling of overconfidence.
