"Stick shift" vs "Paddle shift" transmissions

Hard call. I prefer the stick-shift car personally for multiple reasons. Besides being fun-to-drive, it's more reliable & obviously is longer lasting than an automatic transmission unit. However, ever since I've driven the new performance transmissions like PDK & SMG (my daily-driver M3), I think it's a lot easier to live without a stick-shift tranny. Factors like increasing traffic & lack of comfort while driving through the town, will make me think twice before buying a shift-shift car in future. Therefore, my daily-driver/commuter should be an auto & my weekend car should be a stick-shift.

the way the future is going, it seems that manuals will disappear from performance cars, because they're too slow.

however lightweight sportscars and entry models seems to be keeping them

Im goin with stick if there is no DCT option, having the DCT, give me that!
