X5 [Spyshots] Next generation BMW X5 (3rd gen) 2015?

The BMW X5 is a mid-size luxury crossover SUV produced by BMW. The X5 made its debut in 1999 as the E53 model. It was BMW's first SUV. BMW marketed the X5 officially as a "Sports Activity Vehicle" (SAV), rather than an SUV, to indicate its on-road handling capability despite its large dimensions.
It means that the car has so much torque, that if they used the DCT, the transmission would of blown.

Not really mate. Same engine in Panamera and PDK handles the torque real well. I think towing and offroad applications that didnt past the testing.

But towing stuff never happens in such a car, so sacrificing DCT would be such a shame. Same with off-road :(

There's definitely a niche for a LWB X5. I hope the creative marketing team are paying attention

Must be really tall guy, that he had to move his seat all the way back.

Why is BMW killing such awesome looking car designs. That render is hideous.
I don't think BMW has much to do with this render, which is not that accurate. The sides are very bland. I don't see any running board step. There has always been something since E53 X5.

As a whole, the render is quite far from reality. It obviously uses the X3's profile ( the wheelbase in the render is shorter than the E70's ) , and as EMpower highlighted there is no running board. The render also does not include the new wing mirror design set to debut on the F15, with integrated indicators. The front may be quite accurate, however considering the mistakes in the rest of the car it seems that quattroroute just made a mock-up based on the knowledge the headlights and grilles would join, and that it would use the new Aedaptive LED headlights.

That render is just.... No.
I see a lot missing such as the surface sculpture on the front facia and lower flanks .
Besides we know the front of the car thanks to my sketch and the collaborating crash-test model photos.

The actual car is more stunning in reality , given that the current E70 is still stunning after all these years.
The next X6 as is the X4, is further distinguished between their bretheren.

There are some spy pics in autozeitung.de which show the front bumper almost with no camo, and the shape of the headlights much clearer. Do we know when the first FEP pics will emerge? What about the press pics?

Supension just crossed my mind. The front suspension will stay the same double wishbone, just wonder if the E53 rear axle carry-over to E70 will be used again?

You sure the E70 has an E53 rear axle Human? That's some ancient tech by now if true. They can't possibly use it again if they want a cutting edge car.

Thanks. So it's an evolution, and not the same. Like a new engine is usually an evolution too (and not like the Z3 which got got the old E30 rear axle if I remember correctly.)

I'm not familiar with suspension tech, but I assume we want a double wishbone in the back too?

Sneak Peek. The F15 X5 has dropped a lot of camo. More Photo's are coming later this week. The car is stunning from all angles. Will be the best looking SUV in the segment. I have found a never seen/revealed Branding Element on the new F15 X5. The Air Breather from the 4 Series Coupe. Straight ahead 90 degree shots could not "see" this feature. The swirly camo effectively hid the opening. Only a long angled shot could see the Branding Element. More later. Thanks. PalBay
