Leylandi loved 4-door coupes because the class was created by Mercedes. However, he doesn't like coupe SUVs at all because the class was created by BMW. If the first model of this class had also come from Mercedes, Leylandi would have loved it too.

And Mercedes followed because there were emerging markets for this type of SUV as a Coupe. A sports car with practicality.

If that is not real then it could be a very realistic CGI/AI render. It looks good, I like this shape of iX4, certainly more interesting than the previous model.

I know I'm categorically averse to AI slop. Any and all of it. Because it just signals to people that it's okay to not bother learning how to do things, like draw, write or even read.

Anyway. Am I the only person who thinks all "SUV-coupes" are hideous homunculi that not only look ugly, but are fundamentally compromised vehicles that don't actually make any sense?

The iX4 looks like it'll look better than the current X4, but it still looks like a complete pig compared to the iX3, which looks better and is more functional.

Well, one could the consider neurological disorders such as dyslexia, dysgraphia or dyspraxia. Nothing at all to do with "laziness" and "not bothering". In these particular instances, AI is an effective tool. Of course, when AI commands processes that can be accomplished by the use of sound human creative and constructive skills, it is then in which you have a legitimate point.

The iX4 looks like it'll look better than the current X4, but it still looks like a complete pig compared to the iX3, which looks better and is more functional.

I suppose these are just different opinions or ways of looking at it, but I think it's great that there are other types of silhouettes on the road and not always the saturation of classic SUVs that are everywhere. They also compensate for the lack of car coupes, offering some excitement and novelty in design....

I like most of them a lot; they convey power and "sportiness."

Thats not the point. The physical act of making the drawing, writing or reading the text is only part of it. Those things will atrophy, with AI being used as a crutch. But the bigger problem is the comprehension. We will lose the ability to comprehend what we're reading or looking at.
And I'm sorry, but it is laziness. There are people with far worse challenges than dyslexia or whatever that have overcome their problems with being able to create art. And that it is that effort that is what makes it distinctly human. It takes years and years of consistent effort to be good at anything.

The ability to fluently and precisely articulate text prompts are arguably a sign of possessing the ability to comprehend what one is looking at. Neurological disorders in which visual spatial deficits (inability to "transport what is clearly perceived mentally" to a sketching hand, for example), do not necessarily mean that one is unable to comprehend proportions, surfacing, organic integration, detailing etc.
