So I'll add my few cents to the discussion.

I just went to Mercedes collindale to collect my E class will post about that in the other thread.

Regarding this is find the E class has better fir and finish then then my C.My C has a few rattles touch wood my E has no rattles or noises.

Yes I do find strange the inside ofnthe door compartment is plain in the E and the C has cloth other then that I find everything else either better or same in the E.

I know the C has that chrome fit by the centre compartment and the E has plastic but the E fits more better so if you want looks then C one looks better but quality wise and fit wise E is better.

Anywyas I find the E a superior car that's my own opinion.

On a side note sat in a new S class wow that car blows me away everytime I sit in it.

Regarding the facelift I still find the E very fresh and I dont think it needs drastic facelift that again just my opinion.

Yes I am sure a few tech would be nice and maybe MBUX but as for design i just love the E.

Interesting subject over here, I will not talk about how the car looks because its purely subjective, but I'm sure a nice trimmed E class will defer than the basic one.

Regardless, in terms of quality, I drive a nicely trimmed E400, my friend also owns a nicely trimmed C250. In terms of material used, E class is always equal or superior to the one used on the C class, below are the examples:-

- The E seats leather quality is far better the C class, it is also much more comfy.
- The central black buttons are bit loose on the C class, while the fit is better in the E.
- Door lock nobs are Metallic (or Galvanized) in my E, while its black plastic in the C
- The Dual screens fit looks and feels well executed, while the plastic around the C screen feels cheap (but its worse in the E with single screen).
- The black trim around the central console in the C class is loose (the car does have full ash wood center)
- More trim and internal squeaks and sounds from the C, while in the E I haven't heard anything other than the top dash.

However, there are also some areas where the C has better execution such as the door pocket internal, its covered by fabric in the C while the E is not covered, also the door trim on the C has stitching. I cant think of anything else and since I have the burmester 3D system even my glasses compartment is covered by Aluminum.

My E400 has 52,000 KM on the mileage, the car is holding much better than my friend's C250 with 58,000 KM on his meter.

In conclusion, I think its not true that the C has overall better material, but having this debate shows that Mercedes is really getting cheap when it comes to quality and material, I paid big amount just to make the car look good and have better quality (3D burmester, AMG package, Ash wood trim, AMG Nappa seats, Dual Screens, Multi-led Beams).

Yeah. It can be amusing when people moan that the S interior looks like the E and the 7-Series like the 5-Series, but yet the sense of luxury in the flagships couldn't be greater.

You can not even compare the S class and E class in reality.

I am going to post these photos I complied before. IMO the dashboard design looks more luxurious in the E class, and the trim around the transmission tunnels looks visually more appealing. I still have no idea why Mercedes thought it was a good idea to only offer gloss black at the start. I also think the inner door trim on the E class is too plain looking, and it doesn't cover enough of the door panel.

I will say they both look beautiful..
Are those your E and C pics.

Oh these aren't photos from my own car but the interiors are exactly the same. I don't have the command pack or the Burmester sound system on the C class.

The one thing that the E class does better than the C class are the front seats, they are so much more comfortable and supportive.

Well this is a surprise! Didn't expect to see face lift prototypes so soon with such a dramatic change to the front end too.

GLE headlights.

I expect the S-Class to feature similar front lights as well.

Lights are very GLE influenced or same as GLE the grill is also very differnt from any current Grill.

Am I correct in saying that the grille design is entirely new? I don't recognise it from any other Merc.

Don't know how feel about those headlights. I am actually the minority who likes the current headlight design.

I don't think you are a minority. The E-Class has a very nice front end. The problem is the entire MB line-up shares that same front end.

The new one with the pointed headlights and inverted grille also looks quite good. But again. If the GT4 and the E-Class range share the front design, it just waters it down.

Thats a bit of a shock lol, being it's first spotting and yet so revealing with such drastic changes, almost like it's being launched soon..normally the testing lasts for around 1 year and there is 2 years left for the 213 facelift??

Well the car was launched end of 2015 if I am correct or Jan 2016 so end of this year it's 3 years so I guess around Augaust or end of next year is almost the fourth year and I guess we mite see it by end of next year Or The last part of 2019

I only see the one of the two double strip of led on the headlamp. Or does the body line that runs from the bonnet now form the other strip?

Looks like drastic front end facelifts of high volume models is a Mercedes strategy here to stay.
