S-Class [Spyshots] 2015 Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe/Cabriolet

The Mercedes-Benz S-Class, formerly known as Sonderklasse, is a series of full-sized luxury sedans and coupés produced by Mercedes-Benz. The S-Class is the designation for top-of-the-line Mercedes-Benz models and was officially introduced in 1972 with the W116, and has remained in use ever since. The S-Class is the flagship vehicle for Mercedes-Benz, being positioned above the other Mercedes-Benz models.
With Audis' Quattro Concept appearing rather mediocre, perhaps the S-Class coupe will be the undisputed star of this years' IAA. The renderings leave me expecting nothing less than the most beautiful large coupe available on the market. And the most beautiful Mercedes-Benz in ages.

I´ve seen it. On a ver small pic, but I´ve seen it.

Autobild has a video of the new issue, and the S-Coupe can be seen on the cover, just under the iPad logo I mentioned. It is very small, but I can see the front end resembles a lot the draws I´ve posted, the grille is the same as in the A250 Sport, or at least that´s what I can see, and the front bumper has some similar look to the E63 AMG.

The frontlights appear to be too big. At least on that tiny pic. I hope I´m wrong.

What's the style of the headlight-grille integration? SL? S? A? I personally hope it's something like E.

I'm looking at AB, but can't find anything.

Are you referring to an actual picture or these drawings? Is there really going to be an actual concept? I am wondering why nothing has been released yet.

It is the real concept, and it is on the Autobild cover of this week. when you press download and try to see the full cover, it shows you the cover of last´s week issue.

You can see it on this video, which shows a tiny version of the cover. It is on the right of the new Golf Plus render:

Drawings and sketches are are setup for a big let down. We've seen enough of the car now to know that it won't look anything like those drawings/sketches. Why not just show the damn car and be done with it?

Not feeling the drawings at all. I am hoping the real concept connects better with me. I fear there is too much SL in the front. The rear is too Audi-ish - nothing Mercedes-like at all there.

I would say the i8 will cause a fairly huge splash at the IAA aswell.
I'm really looking forward to this one though. Looks like the "melted front" design is here to stay, but the rest of the car seems very promising. The CL is transforming from a heavy large coupe, to a true GT. They're clearly coming for the 6er and it's more expensive rivals.

it looks so sexy and sport though I wish it had an interior to match, somewhat different from the S but overall the same design

This think will look so much better than the BMW 8 Series Concept, which will even not make it to production.

Considering there have been multiple concepts preceding the i8, I doubt it will cause that much of a splash compared to something we haven't seen at all, such as the S-Coupe Concept or the Audi Quattro (even though I'm not particularly keen on it).

not to turn this thread into a discussion about the i8, but I still stand my point :) The S.coupe is a successor of an existing model (although it changed in character) while the i8 is a completely new car that showcases what other companies have been showing in concept cars, but never made it to production.. don't underestimate the importance of that car, even to the competition. the concepts were foreplay, the production is where business gets real!
both cars will gain equal chunks of attention. each in its own way.
