V-Class/Vito [Spyshots] 2014 Mercedes-Benz Viano

The Mercedes-Benz Vito/V-Class/Viano/EQV is a mid-sized light commercial vehicle (LCV) produced by Mercedes-Benz, available as a panel van, chassis cab, or multi-purpose vehicle (MPV), carrying cargo or up to eight passengers. In the Mercedes-Benz van lineup, it is positioned between the larger Sprinter and the smaller Citan.
Front looks good. This thing looks like it would be incredibly unstable. The back is just awkward looking.

In the pictures, this van has better interior design than the GL class, M class, R class, E class, and the CLS. Mercedes might be going for the S class level van, looking at this interior. The exterior is also exciting...for a van. They may not have a luxury SUV to compete with top Range Rovers but it appears that they will instead have a van to do the job:).

Van or no van, Mercedes has really gone into a completely different level with this new Viano. This is the proper MB way of making cars - any cars!

I am really happy to see this! On the other hand, I believe I will be truly sad when BMW's approach is "finally" revealed :D

An udpate. :)

U.S. dealers might get Mercedes rwd minivan
Automotive News -- November 11, 2013 - 12:01 am ET
Mercedes-Benz may offer its next-generation European minivan and commercial van in the United States, company insiders say.

The new V-class minivan and Vito commercial vehicle will go on sale in spring in Europe and could arrive in the United States in 2015.

In the United States, the V class would compete with the Chrysler Town & Country, Honda Odyssey, Nissan Quest and Toyota Sienna. It would be the only rear-wheel-drive offering in the segment and would be slightly larger than its U.S. competitors.

The Vito, slotted below Mercedes' Sprinter commercial van, would compete with the Ford Transit and the Chevrolet City Express/Nissan NV 200 sibling models.

The V class and Vito are built on the same rwd platform, with all-wheel drive available. Both four- and six-cylinder engines will be offered.

The V class will be fitted with a more carlike and upscale interior than the Viano van it replaces. It includes wood decor, ambient lighting and many electronic features. A large panoramic roof will be offered as well.

This year, Volker Mornhinweg, global head of Mercedes-Benz Vans told Automotive News that the Sprinter was a "door opener" and said a U.S. launch of the new models was possible.

A Mercedes-Benz USA spokesman declined to comment.

2014 Mercedes V-Class spied yet again, will replace the Viano

Could be offered in the United States
Development work continues on the 2014 Mercedes V-Class as our spies have snapped pictures of another lightly camouflaged prototype.

Designed to replace the Viano, the V-Class has upscale styling with a two-bar grille and sweptback headlights. We can also see prominent wheel arches and a distinctive tailgate.

While the exterior retains a somewhat boxy shape, the cabin boasts higher quality materials and an improved design. As previous photos have shown, the interior will have a curvaceous dashboard with wood trim, metallic accents and a free-standing COMAND display. The model will also have an upscale passenger compartment that can be equipped with center consoles and four individual seats that face each other.

Engine options remain unconfirmed but previous reports have indicated the model could be offered a 2.1-liter four-cylinder diesel that has outputs of 136 HP (100 kW), 170 HP (125 kW) and 190 HP (139 kW). The engines will reportedly be connected to seven- and nine-speed automatic transmissions which can be paired to an optional all-wheel drive system.

2014 Mercedes V-Class spied yet again, will replace the Viano

Mercedes V-Class to world premiere on January 30, 2014

Mercedes-Benz will show the new V-Class much earlier than we previously thought. The new generation model’s world premiere is on 30 January 2014, according to Mercedes Passion Blog, who are also carrying what is said as an official teaser image.
Although the new V-Class was to world premiere at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2014, Passion Blog is reporting that the date has been brought forward to 30 January 2014 for unknown reasons. The German manufacturer has already presented the vehicle’s interior in October through studio images.
Not much is known about the vehicle’s mechanical carriage at the moment. Some European websites are reporting that the V-Class will get an entry-level variant powered by a 2.1L diesel engine (used on the MFA series) with optional AWD, and retain the current set of motors. These would be paired to a seven-speed dual clutch automatic transmission.
The V-Class is moving upmarket as observed from the images of the interior, which resemble a Mercedes saloon or SUV. Going by more web reports, the V-Class will sold through Mercedes’ passenger vehicle retail network, and replace the R-Class, which does not get a direct successor.

Stunning for a van, but too big for non commercial sales/use in the U.S. IMO. Wouldn't find many buyers.

I can't imagine many people would buy a V Class for their personal vehicle but I can definitely see it being used heavily by hotels, car services, shuttles, town-car replacements, etc.

We Would Most definitely buy a V class as our family vehicle if it comes well stacked and a 8 seater .

My bro has twins and a son so his family is 5 and myself and my wife that makes us 7 and when we do a long trip we like to travel together...

Could anyone suggest something better especially looking at that interior so far.

Sorry I should have added *in the USA* not many would probably consider this as a family car.
