Panamera [Spy Shots] Porsche Panamera Thread II (Spy pics & info)

The Porsche Panamera is a mid to full-sized luxury car (E-segment or F-segment for LWB in Europe) manufactured and marketed by Porsche. The Panamera name, as with the Carrera name, is derived from the Carrera Panamericana race.
Just a flashback, the Phaeton concept presented back in 1999 had more or less the same shape and proportions as the Panamera, except that it was less sleeke since it was a luxury car. Just like the Panamera it also had a hatch.

It is not the hatch that deceive me, it is the way it is designed. it was clear since the beginning that it would be a hatchback, that is not the problem.

These lines, these lights, reminds me of the rear of a Mondeo.
I hate the way the hatch is integrated in the car. Buggati's EB 112 and all other Bugattis were much better resolved.

It looks everything but sleek or sporty. It smells Cayenne...

Should have looked like this Bugatti EB 128. It looks like a bad copy of this Bugatti, very bad. The rear is ugly, unless there is invisible camo to remove I don't like this rear. Maybe with the shape of the rear window (obviously covered with camo) it will look better...

What bothers me about the hatch is the rather sharp corners on the side. As for the light, don't worry about they they are covered up with panels on the sides and the entire tail lights have fake graphics deceiving graphics on them. The production cars won't have frog-eye looking tail lights.

Expect something very similar to this:

Well these tailights are the real deal for me, at least the shape. of course the intern design is all wrong, but these big lights and the way the hatch goes between them and ends above the plate is heavy, not very elegant or sporty.

Wait and see, but I abandonned all hopes for that car. it's obviously more Cayenne than 911.

EDIT: Yes, for me these pics are near the reality. And I am no great fan of this rear. i think the shape of the rear window is maybe a bit different, and they forgot the big retractable wing. I think the window will visually integrate the rear wing, giving it a slightly more curved shape.

Well these tailights are the real deal for me, at least the shape.

It's still a bit early to access the rear lights because about 25% of them are covered up on the sides, including the shoulder line at the rear. So we can't see the entire shape of the lights nor their graphic. I love how the chop looks and will be incredibly pleased too see that the real deal looks like it. The chop is very nice from the rear, the front bumper doesn't look optimal though.

Either way I'm very confident that it will be a pleasing car to look at and the performance will make it look even better. Sure it won't be a beauty queen like the Arnage but one thing it won't be lacking is attitude and presence.:)

Neither do I mind if it resembles the Cayenne more than it resembles the 911 because I've never had any problems with how the Cayenne looks. :usa7uh:

I dunno, the more the spy pics seem to expose, the worst it seems to get. It seems wayy to long. Anyways, I pray that I am wrong and that this does turns out to be a beauty.

I still think this thing is going to have win us over on how it drives, not how it looks. Then again I said the same thing about the Cayenne and ended up loving it, especially after the facelift.

That's kind of what Porsche cars are all about. It's how they drive which makes us love them so much.

Yeah that is what I've always heard. Guess which German marque I've never driven!

The Porsche engineers should however feel free to create good-looking cars. Cayenne-awfulness is not required to be a Porsche I hope. Unless you consider the 911 is not a real Porsche, of course...:D

I'm not going to lie the Cayenne is far from the best designed cars and the pre-facelifted one looked terrible at times, especially in silver with unpainted cladding. :t-banghea:eusa_doh: Makes me wonder what Porsche was thinking. Maybe it was penned by the same dude who designed the 996 and 986 which are IMO the worst Porsche generations.

The Cayenne doesn't photograph very well and in real life it doesn't look nearly as bad as it does in pictures, in some trims it looks very good.

I have NEVER seen a good-looking Cayenne. To my eyes of course.;)
I saw all kinds of them. A white Gemballa Turbo S (preFL) was parked sometimes near my workplace, with full-mods: all-white, all-painted including grille, lowered, Gemballa front/rear bumpers and sidethings, white 20"...
Saw some FL Turbo all-black with black 20" and lowered...

The noise is insane, but the look is crap. It is heavy as hell, soft and fat, looks like a Burger with wheels.

The FL didn't help at all, and those hell-red taillamps on the FL always hurt my eyes...

I am a real Porsche enthusiat, love the 911 (bar the 996 of course, only the GT3 looks good), I like the Boxster (including the 986), the Cayman, but the Cayenne is a no-way. Hate it, maybe because I love the other Porsche so much and can't stand the fact that this thing has the name Porsche on it.

Really a cash-machine, and nothing more, for me.
Why doesn't it look like the Infiniti FX45? Or the X6?

Yessss..So true...
And I hope I won't feel like that for the Panamera...but it's not looking very good so far.
That said, I believe in miracles, so nothing's lost!:D

Regardless how it looks I will be like a mother loving her children no matter what others say.

There was a time 4 mounths back that i was seriously seriously considering this car but after 2 things i think i will rather by a cls63 or something off that type

firstly i sat in a cayenne 2 weeks back first time ever i sat in one it was the prefaclift and was a used one with 20thousand kilos

well it was terrible the plastics on the dash a poor and the switches were so bad those finished with the alimuim type finsh switches were so poor

to be honest i was shcoked really a few times i was thinking that i will sell my ml oneday and by a porsche i have always wanted to own a porsche

a porsche and merc in my garage thats what i wanted

well secondly looking at the chops especially the green one it looks terrible id it looks like this i will have to give it a pass

if it turns up simalar to this it will ruin a car i was really looking forward to

looks like for now my garage will have to stay a all merc garage
