The Polestar 4 is a battery electric compact luxury crossover SUV marketed by Polestar, an affiliate of Geely Holding and Volvo Cars, since 2023. The vehicle is manufactured by Geely Holding in a factory in Hangzhou Bay, China. The 4 is the third vehicle to use the rear- and all-wheel drive based platform, Sustainable Experience Architecture. The vehicle is marketed as a coupe SUV that went into production in November 2023 and has two powertrain options.
Start of production postponed
Polestar lays off workers, cuts production forecast

Polestar is struggling with software development delays and other problems. This has consequences for the production forecast and for the employees.
Thursday, May 11, 2023 5:08 PM UPDATED 5 HOURS AGO

"Volkswagen isn't the only automaker having software problems. Just a few days ago, Oliver Blume restructured the board of software subsidiary Cariad because problems there led to delays in model releases. Electric car brand Polestar now reports that the start of production of the Polestar 3 is postponed. Instead of mid-2023 as planned, the electric SUV is now only expected to hit the market in the first quarter of 2024."

Just heard a rumor that at least one of the new Jags will follow the PS4 design and not have a rear window. We might have a new design trend on our hands.

I have kids and would struggle to get used to that rear view mirror. E.g having to flick between rear view camera and mirror for occasional eye contact with the kids.

But the German strategy is bad blah blah blah, you have to respect old foxes, completely immune to these ups and downs, they sell "few" EV's lol, they make more money than ever by calculatingly growing in an unreadable market.

Volvo to stop funding Polestar as Geely readies bailout
Polestar has been hit by a slower-than-expected ramp up, together with a cooldown in EV demand.

February 01, 2024 02:43 am

Like other new EV brands and startups, Polestar has struggled to make headway, particularly since Tesla started a price war last year.
Polestar last week said it plans to cut about 450 jobs globally, or about 15 percent of its workforce, amid "challenging market conditions."
Volvo is also dealing with software development issues that have delayed the brand's new EX30 and EX90 electric models.

"Volvo is considering selling Polestar shares"

Those crazy things about launching phantom brands that are only sold in 4 or 5 countries and end up dragging down the parent, they sin from inexperienced, which is incredible.

"Volvo Car will slash its stake in Polestar to 18 percent and stop funding the unprofitable electric-vehicle maker to focus on its on shift to battery technology."

"Volvo Car plans to transfer around 9.5 billion Swedish kronor ($921 million) worth of Polestar stock, or about 62 percent of its stake, to its shareholders, it said Friday. The move, announced earlier this month, will hand more responsibility to China’s Zhejiang Geely Holding Group, which controls both companies."

"Polestar shares have slumped due to the manufacturer’s slower-than-expected ramp up and overall cooling EV demand"
