The front end was indeed used in an "adapted" variant for the FL version of the previous 7 Series, with its large grille, lights, bumper, hockey stick, and a few other details.

But like you, I also expected the silhouette and rear end to be carried over to the G11 7 Series, but they took a different route—the boring one.

The rear flank surface design is on the G20 3er.

Possibly. Although the announcement was posted on the IG channel of a BMW dealer from Asia and the message was more or less sending to a special local version of the existing G05 LCI generation (probably something like a final edition dubbed Online Edition) rather than an all-new generation.

Given the record so far, I expect that the main BMW social media channels to announce such a reveal with a proper teaser. So I would take that June 15th date with a grain of salt. z

Back in 2018, the first press release on the G05 generation was posted on June 6th, preceded by a preview press release with the camouflaged model on May 23rd. So basically, things should happen the same way around the same timeframe this time too.

I think the launch date for the X5 is very close. The G05 was introduced on June 6, 2018. Eight years will have passed, and the G65 X5 will probably be officially unveiled within a few months. Because according to Bimmerpost posts, production of the vehicle will already have started in August.

We are about to witness an era of desirable BMWs, this will be a high mark in their history. Future generations will hopefully look at this era as fondly as I do the E series.

They’re my renderings. I usually 3D model the car via Vizcom (or Blender if I have the time), then create renders afterwards. AI is only used on the background.
