Ghost [Spy Shots] Mule from next Ghost?

The Rolls-Royce Ghost is a full-sized luxury car manufactured by Rolls-Royce Motor Cars. The "Ghost" nameplate, is named in honour of the Silver Ghost, a car first produced in 1906. The production model was officially unveiled at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show. The Ghost Extended Wheelbase was introduced in 2011. During development, the Ghost was known as the "RR04". It was designed as a smaller, "more measured, more realistic car" than the Phantom, aiming for a lower price category for Rolls-Royce models.

It is fast approaching 10 years when we saw 200EX. I can still remember how amoured we all were with the 200EX.

New Rolls-Royce Ghost Spied Testing, Shows More Dynamic Silhouette

Now that Rolls-Royce has revealed the Phantom VIII range-topper and the Cullinan, the time has almost come for Goodwood to bring us a new generation of the Ghost, also known as the driver's RR.

The least large model in the Spirit of Ecstasy lineup still hasn't reached its advanced testing stages, which is why the prototype that brought us here is covered in heavy camo.

Even so, if we take a look at the luxury sedan's silhouette, we notice a more dynamic-looking greenhouse, with slightly more raked pillars.

Up front, the thin headlights remind us of the Phantom look, while the length-to-width ratio of the imposing grille is now closer to that of a square. Take a look at the posterior of the prototype, though, and you'll notice the provisional taillights.

Underneath the skin, though, the new Ghost is expected to ride on a slightly more compact version of the architecture that underpins both the Phantomand the Cullinan.

The current car already feels surprisingly dynamic for its size (here's our review) and we're expecting the next generation to take this even further, while maintaining the level of coziness such machines are famous for.

We're not expecting the lavish four-door to debut with anything else than the familiar twin-turbo V12 heart, which effortlessly provides low-end torque. However, with the British automotive producer considering electrification, we should get to see efforts made in this direction, probably later on in the vehicle's life cycle.

And with parent company BMW making serious steps down the green propulsion pathway, there will be plenty of technology for Rolls-Royce to rely on.

The current Ghost came to the world back in 2010, which means it will get to enjoy about a decade of market presence - the newcomer should land late next year or in the first part of 2021.

These pseudo-journalists give pity, they are worse than the youtubers, ten blocks away and in all the photos it is appreciated that it is a totally new and different design.
I do not know if they are too busy to do their job or if they are blind or stupid but having a duty to inform with criteria leave much to be desired.

Maybe they should learn to code.

I imagine the designers who burned their eyelashes working for at least two years reading "only day running ligths and reworked tail ligths"
They must curse in several languages.

At this moment they are congratulating the one who made the camouflage.
Also it is remarkable the importance of this mule after so many years and that you do not have to be very awake to see the new sleek lines, it will be a looker

Ghost nee 200EX is 10 years old this month. It's still a looker.
The new one will continue that formula but be far more up to date. Even in the photographs you can see it's going to have a distinct look but not be a poor relation to its Phantom sibling.

In this pic, Cullinan is testing with Phantom's lights.

¿ Rolls Royce preparing a facelift so early?

I am hoping for an evolutionary car.

WTH is that in the back???? A camoed Cullinan a with Phantom-like headlights .... EWB version? LCI already?:wideyed:

Good eye. Some of us here find the headlights lacking in presence compared with the Phantom. The above photo is promising but yet confusing. It’s way too soon to test LCI and putting different headlights on the EWB devalues the SWB.

It is a camouflaged phantom

Nope, it's a Cullinan. Compare the faces of those two ... Google it.

It's 100% Cullinan. Phantom has different grille, different bumper with different air intakes, different hood, different front proportions, lower ground clearance ...

With the Cullinan having pushed Rolls-Royce sales to a point where Goodwood has to make efforts to cope with the demand and the British carmaker having released a new generation of its flagship sedan in 2017 (think: Phantom VIII), it's almost time for the Ghost to go through a generation change.

The new RR Ghost is currently in its advanced development stages, with the luxury sedan expected to debut by mid-2020 and come to the US market as a 2021 model.

The details of the newcomer remain hidden by the still-heavy camouflage and yet there are signs of a sportier appearance. Chief among these is the slightly sloped roof line, while the headlights might also receive a sleeked appearance.

Even with the camo, it's obvious that the coach doors are here to stay, but the tech side of the vehicle will bring important changes.

For instance, the new Rolls-Royce Ghost is expected to land with AWD, while forum chat also talks about four-wheel steering. I'm not so sure about the latter, though, since improper driving inputs could result in a less than sublime experience inside the car.

Motivation will come from the brand's familiar twin-turbo 6.75-liter V12, which should deliver around 550 horsepower and loads of low-end torque. The latter could be aided by instant electric torque coming from a 48V mild-hybrid setup.

The new aluminum platform of the Rolls-Royce Ghost, which will be common to the underpinnings of its range mates, should save a bit of weight (actually, the platform will bring more serious weight savings, but an important part of the gain might be offset by extra tech).

With the all-new Bentley Flying Spur being more lavish than ever, the competition between Crew and Goodwood has become sharper and we can't wait to see how the latter aim to establish dominance.

It's needs a face lift real bad, it looks far too much like a 90's MetroCab.

Call me crazy, but those 7er Individual multi-spoke wheels look good on a Roller sedan.
