7 Series (F01) [Spy shots] F01 / F02 BMW 7er - Spy Pics & Info Part IV (first FEP pics incl.!!!)

The BMW F01 is the fifth-generation 7 Series, produced from 2008 to 2015. The model range consisted of standard length and long wheelbase ("Li" models) sedans. Model codes: F01 (short-wheelbase), F02 (long-wheelbase), F03 (high-security), and F04 (ActiveHybrid). Production: 2008–2015.
VERY nice, apart from the overly large kidneys. Reminds me of a pigs snout for some reason lol.

Yeah, that last CGI looks the best so far. I agree Skysony! Finally the proportions become better in those renders!

LOL, that last CGI looks more like transformed CS concept than new F01, there's no way new 7er will have such a wide and low look according to spy shots.

You´re absolutely right. This picture has been published in "auto motor & sport" month ago, they´ve just changed a few details. The best impression of the F01 you can get so far comes from the white FEP on page 84/85. :usa7uh:

Don't ever expect anything great from french car mags, and you'll never be disappointed. You can trust me on this one.
Most of their so-called experts don't even have an engineering degree and it shows in the poor writing, especially when it comes to german flagships.

^^ Right, I don't read them any more. If you want 50 pages on the new Peugeot 108, go and read it.

But concerning German cars, they usually only take the weirdest available PS from the German mag they're linked with, make a few changes, write some rubbish and that's it. They're only interested in French cars.

Understandable given the market share and the fact that French people often buy French cars (which are really excellent small cars), but if you're a true car enthusiast it's not the cars you're the most interested in.

The spanish people who has seen the car say that this is the front lights shape:

I think if you look good to the blue F01 you could see that that´s the correct shape.

The blue one looks so good!! Can't wait to see the first press photos!

My brother in law just got a 740LI he is very happy with it,sadly he won't be that happy after two months:D

What you are seeing regarding the FEP is only the surface.
Underneath when the disguise is removed and you can see all the detail on the highly polished bodywork in full high definition and on the move , you will understand it's purpose and the fact that this is a highly interesting and individual motor car.

Current CGI images are again understanding the detail but when it comes to execution greatly "exaggerating" them.

The Blue FEP is translating a new color for the 7er called "Imperial Blue" some new colors will include: Mineral White, Sophisto Grey, Cashmere Silver , amongst others.

BMW will be having an exclusive 7er showcase for the media after the initial launch @ BMW Welt in July. Then the next time you will see the car will be in Paris in October.

But CGIs seem to be acurate in some ways. The shape of the lights are correct in some ones, so we can say that the artist are doing a good job.

Little bit off topic ...

l was always wondering what is going on whit current un-sold new E65, sitting on a dealers lot ... l mean, why would someone wanted to give a 90+k EUR for something that's gonna be a old model in just 3 months ... Not to mention <5.000 km used 7er and their price lost ...

One word:

That is a really good disscount, but i would never doubt and i would go for the F01, looking much much better.
