@SCOTT27: render or something more official?
Official:))

accessories-slide-4.webp

Its a new render based on this picture by Autobild - Larson coming up.... Its getting closer to the actual car , closer than the previous too much F01 based pictures. Whilst the render is based on the F01 they now add the crucial G11 elements in terms of surface treatment and almost accurate design elements.

Its an advance on Rolls-Royce's satellite aided transmission.

Sorry, I mean in order to adjust the suspension. Using satellites to find a hill is completely plausible. Using a satellite to find a pothole well isn't-- unless you are a government agency, then it might be.

Satellite Aided Transmission uses GPS data to see beyond what the driver sees; it anticipates his next move based on location and current driving style, then selects the most appropriate gear for the terrain ahead. Corners, motorway junctions and roundabouts are all anticipated in advance meaning Wraith is constantly poised to deliver on its promise of performance.

7er uses the next phase of this technology but incorporates new features that provide benefit to the car.

BMW drivers want driving dynamics, no brothel on wheels.

Also, the S class pushed nothing. Compared to the F01, it marginally improved the quality, nothing more, and maybe even less than that. The faux retro, unoriginal and bling bling isn't everybody's dream interior. Not to mention the PC screens sitting there like that.
There are a lot of people out there, who find the W222 interior smashingly beautiful and exactly representing luxury class automobile as how it should be. There must be a reason why every S-Klasse so far has worldwide outsold the BMW 7. That doesn't mean the 7er isn't a desireable car. To my eyes it is. But as an actually buying and self driving customer, I appreciate other features in a luxury car. Such as quiteness, top of the bill luxury drive and safety. The 7er isn't offering this to me in the way I want it. And I'm glad it doesn't, because than it wouldn't be a real BMW anymore. Look and feel how the 5er is driving. It's almost (I'm exaggerating to make a point) driving like an E-Klasse. If I'd be buying a 7er I know I have to make concessions to comfort and special look of interior. But I also know, I'll be driving a large sporty car that's potentially giving me driving pleasure on small, curvy roads. It has it's own type of customer, so has the S-Klasse (and Audi A8 for that matter).
To call a S-Klasse a brothel on wheels is tasteless and without style as wel as offensive to all S-Klasse drivers and fans.

The W221 interior is not my cup of tea, but I get why many love it. It is an impressive interior - minus a few quibbles.

On the other hand, what peeves me to no end is how among some suddenly silver painted plastic bits is the de jure for luxury. And anything with out that bling is somehow auto-magically a step below.

The BMW has satellite aided technology that not only scans the road and adjusts the suspension and dampers to suit but chooses the appropriate gear.
Sorry Scotty 27 ,BMW is late again . Mercedes has satellite tech that does all that in their trucks a few years back .

This times 100. Time to break the S class circle jerk!

As far as i remember, the 60s , 70s, 80s ,90s, and on , Daimler has beem ahead of their competitors from all over and makes , liked or not you cant run away from it . By the way now that you mention , why dont you organice a circle jerk for the 7er ?? ,any takers ??;)

That is correct. In 2013 BMW made use of this technology for cars, where it previously had only been used in commercial vehicles.
