BMW drivers want driving dynamics, no brothel on wheels.
Also, the S class pushed nothing. Compared to the F01, it marginally improved the quality, nothing more, and maybe even less than that. The faux retro, unoriginal and bling bling isn't everybody's dream interior. Not to mention the PC screens sitting there like that.
When you mention all LED lights as one of cars greatest achievements, it doesnt sound very serious. And MBC had many criticism, so the only thing that W222 pushed forward is probably in looks department, which i think looks gorgeous inside out. Most S classes that came before probably had much more innovations. You don't think it pushed interior design forward? I beg to differ, and so do thousands of people.
To be the first car with all LEDs, Magic Body Control, and an interior that reviewers are raving over...I'm not sure how you can say it marginally improved. It was a HUGE improvement.
Regardless of which interior you believe is king, be it Audi, BMW, or MB, the W222 certainly did improve the design of both the interior and exterior. To say that it didn't is beyond me.
The 222's interior is a revolutionary new stuff. Its not just an improvement. The brand news S is still the king. Above is only the RR Ghost, of course.
The W222 has alot of world firsts for safety equipment
Copied? What, do you think VAG and BMW isnt developing this kind of technology on its own? Its just that Mercedes presented it first. Its suspension technology (MBC) is pioneering (and most likely be copied by the next 7 series and Audi A8)
Highly subjective, but somehow agreeable. However what about engines, transmissions, driving dynamics, command systems and other stuff that is as important in a car?its noise levels and comfort are unrivalled (unless you spend double the price and buy a Rolls) and the interior design, luxury and comfort advances to a new level

What is revolutionary about it? Perfume? Lights? All LEDs? Two screens?

Now about your post, obviously fanboyism got better of you: you cannot tell us nonsense (#1304), and then justify yourself with 'oh-who-knows-what-will-happen-in-the-future'. If you're not smart enough to check facts before posting your opinion, at least be a man enough to acknowledge that you are mistaken.
I'm almost sure that one of Citroën's DS models got the perfume dispenser before the W222, not sure if even the Fiat 500 had it, too.
C`mon, there is no HUD in w222, and that system is, IMHO, more important than 80% of "world firsts" systems in w222. And that system is in BMWs from 2003. Even 3 series from 2011 has that. Even MINI. Maybe LCI 1 series. MBC is half usefull system, and by that, not so revolutionary. Buy S350CDI with MBC! Use MBC on snow or rainy day. Or night? MBC- IMO, just marketing. Maybe in future, MBC V2.0, but now - no no.
