[Spy shots] 2027 Mercedes-Benz "Baby G-Class"

Interesting comment when the main demographic of the G, is white people and arabs.

The main coke consumers
There’s a video of a London based G-Klasse in Tiffany Blue crashed into a Prius taxi with the Woman driver of the G-Klasse holding a giant Balloon. Is this a new thing?

Drug use and abuse is rife amongst the middle class and wealthy whilst they shake their heads and the young kids who are the ones being jailed or stabbed over running the stuff around. Hypocrisy at its finest.

Balloons are illegal now, but they still do it and drive. Mainly younger people. Idiotic

What’s in the Balloons?

I haven’t seen this yet in Switzerland.

The proportions are whack! Like a temu gclass or reskinned mercedes GLK.

German brands go down market long before Japanese brands like Lexus or others existed, and this was due to internal German competition. The 190 emerged as a competitor to the Audi 80 and BMW 3 Series, all entry-level line/models. I believe these "lower" ranges added significant value to the brands and made them accessible to more than just the wealthy.

They wouldn't have survived otherwise; 40 years ago, the world was very different.

Additionally, as a car enthusiast, how boring it was when Mercedes only had a couple of models and BMW only three. You'd see a new car every four, five years, or even longer, and they were almost never on the road.

So I think the more models and lines there are, the better, as long as they maintain their premium status.
Actually the main reason for Audi, BMW and Mercedes going downmarket was because of the 1970s fuel crisis and they needed smaller more fuel efficient cars to sell in the US due to stringent fuel consumption rules that came out in the 80s. Otherwise I think they would kept their larger models running for as long as possible to make more profit. The W123 was already a very strong seller and became the best-selling Mercedes of all time with 2.7mill sold. The smaller and cheaper 190 W201 range could only sell 1.87mill cars in its 11-year life cycle.

I think that the German Trio have an over bloated model range and some models could be axed. It would be nicer to see a slightly reduced line up with some niche cars.

And I'll be the first to put up my hand and admit that I'm wrong. But I just don't see body-on-frame here - particularly based on that view of the back.

I don't see them developing an entire new platform just for this car. That'd be unheard of these days. But yeah we'll see sooner or later.
I am no expert on these matters, but what makes you even say this can't be a body on frame? It's too low?

Fixed that for you. You're welcome.

The question is, why a completely new platform will be spend for only one model.
So, I believe that this g will be a (good looking) and very important precursor for a real redesign of the G.

The G can't live forever, but there's a strong demand for a redefined, high efficient version for the future with some newly -in g proven- design details.

Even the experience of the new platform could be used with a kind of enlargement ?
