3 Series (G50) [Spy shots] 2027 BMW 3 Series (G50)

The BMW G50 is the eighth generation of the BMW 3 Series range. Body styles: G50 (sedan), G51 (wagon/touring), NA0 (i3 sedan), and G58 (long-wheelbase). Inspired by BMW's Vision Neue Klasse concept, it will be offered with both internal combustion and purely electric powertrains, though on different platforms. Predecessor: G20 3 Series. Production: 2026-
Aren't the radar sensors and whatnot located in those headlight units? They're not going to relocate it and turn it into grilles for the M3...

Surely the grille of the NK based ICE M4 will be open.
Maybe they want to streamline stuff.

Not saying it's true or anything, but just a thought. BMW likes their Ms to have the same face (M3/4 and X5/6 M)

Nice, taking the fight to the C53 (y) (not that a 393hp M350 would've struggled either)

I guess it's a little less B58 and a little more EV, but the result is pretty fine. This is going to be a rocket, I can't wait to see the G50 in full glory. And I am maybe even more excited for the Touring. That's going to be so hot with NK design language.

Praying we get at least one ICE 3er-based wagon in the US

If Audi doesn't bring a single B10 Avant but BMW brings a G51/G88, I may be switching back to BMW..... In an ideal world we get both and I go bankrupt buying both :ROFLMAO:

Side note: also keeping an eye on what GM does with the Alpha platform Camaro sedan/Buick twin and Infiniti does with the Q50 successor. And maybe Lexus pulls an i6-powered IS sedan out of their ass?? (there was a recent rumour published that Toyota is developing an i6) Could be an interesting time for me as I'd be cross shopping all of these likely....

I don't think it's a Toyota-based engine, but based on Mazda's inline-6 and Mazda's RWD platform since ToyoMoCo has an ownership stake in Mazda. Toyota may fettle with its internals, but mostly Mazda-based. I don't know if it's still on the table or not, especially since carmakers are retreating on the EV front but petrol price and scarcity being an issues due to even more recent global "happenings."

That last sentence is more of a question on a broader issue though.

Yes this rumor was strong a few years back but by then it died off. It would make sense considering their close relationship.

Ynguldyn's updates on the gasoline engines.

G50: 318: B48B20M3, 115kW/250Nm + 8kW EM; 320: B48B20M3, 155kW/330Nm + 8kW EM, M350x: B58B30M3, 313kW/540Nm + 13kW EM.
Would have been nice to see the base model 318 get a power boost to 125 or 130kw and 270nm. There will be a gulf of performance difference with the 320 (+40kw/80nm). Looking forward to the new G50 debut
