This is the replacement for the 1 Series Coupe, which will now be called "2 Series".

The interior is identical to the 1 Series hatchback.

On the good side: it certainly doesn't "look like a VW Polo" anymore, that's for sure ...

No worry, it will have 6 series/5 series/3 series rear end So I guess it will looks fine

The short chassis dictates a body that is still kinda tall and stubby, sort of ungainly, not svelte enough for a pretty coupe. Still a huge improvement over the 1 Series coupe.

The 2er is the quintessential small BMW Coupe think of the BMW 700 , 1600 and of course the 2002. Then you had the birth of the BMW 3er with the E21 and the E30.
The 2er conforms to that classic small BMW perspective , which you just know will give a slight nod to the past but be something different entirely.

This car and the new Cayman shows how small cars can look better than their larger siblings. I can't wait to see more of this little beast. People should get the 2-series before it goes FWD in 6-7 years.

I did not follow that discussion, but you're right, I don't think that was correct behavior either. Please don't think I meant this as a personal attack, it's just that I see you get into these scoffs with people and as a bystander I think I know why. I wanted to express my opinion on the reason as I see it, not to berate you but to try and maybe get you to consider just changing the tone of your responses slightly when you notice a post that you feel needs correcting. I know it's probably a fool's errand to try and get a point like this over the Internet to somebody, but a part of me is hoping that maybe we'd see less of these back-and-forth OT discussions that are about (witty) comebacks.
If I was harsh, I apologize. I truly do. I'm just saddened when the discussion degrades to the point when members try to outsmart or "show up" (unsure if that's the correct phrase) the other guy simply for the sake of it, not for fun or in the purpose of the topic.

So to be back on topic, I do like how the 2er turned out. I do think that the rear lights might not be its best feature, but visually it's still a bit too stubby for my taste. Just by a bit though, not as much as it bothered me on the 1er coupe.

I wish the front had some strength and style of the 4 series or E30, the sketches which were over the years (with a retro style similar to 2002) were discarded, love the succes of the new camaro, new mustang, new MINI in this format.

I' wait this style punch in the first generation of the 1 series coupe and nothing happened, but it was not bad, now expecting something more in this 2 series and the truth is I' see a totally soft front, except that we have not yet seen official pictures. ......but .......

Give it a chance, the offical pics in different colors will probably look much better. They can't make it as good looking as the 4 for a number of reasons, but still better than that terrible 1 Series Coupe.

This is BMW and they don't have good form in this department. Usually the official pics are the worst.

I fully expect the real life photos to be much better. I've seen an M235i lightly disguised with my own eyes and it looks great however.
