2 Series [Spy Shots] 2015 BMW 2 Series Spy Pics & Info

The BMW 2 Series is a range of subcompact executive cars (C-segment) manufactured by BMW since the year 2014. The 2 Series was created when BMW spun-off the 2-door models (coupé and convertible) of the BMW 1 Series into a separate series.
I think they are the finnest rearlights from BMW, on par with the 6er ones. This is just some amazing work from BMW and just confirms my opinion: BMW is far better with small and medium cars than with large ones. Even when the 5er and 6er look very nice, cars like this 2er and 4er are just on another level.

If only they had put the Z4 interior on this...

I like the way you think. Really do agree.
And yea Z4 interior into this would be amazing!!!

Certainly reserving judgement until the full rear is shown.

@ EnI Have BMW put those horrid reflectors in the rear low bumper/diffuser design like the other series?

Hopefully the 2er will get away without them owing to its smaller size.

Edit: Obviously not then (in non-M Sport/M Performance guise at least :( Yuk)

Can one of you tech savvy folks freeze some stills from this? ^

(That was fast, but I'm hungry for more!)

Very "beautiful" rear. :censored:

Compared to the much more refined front:

Its cool , its different but would have like to have seen the 2002 round rear lights kept from earlier proposals.
That would have been....interesting.

No, I have a problem with design coherence: the front is roundish & very elegant. While the rear is too "quadratisch" & too robust. Why? Is it so hard to make a rear that matches the front (and vice versa)? This car's design could be perfect. So easily. Sometimes designer just try too hard & spoil everything. Less is more. Simple is the new complex.

But IRL it looks a bit better due to compact proportions. I'll be fine in a while. I need some time to digest this one.

Sheesh - I must be cocked in the head but those rear lights don't bug me nearly as much as the front lights and nose on the F20 do...

Look, the shape of the lights means that the bootlid aperture is awkward but beyond that, at least there's a strong BMW identity?

Hahah... the ugly duckling is here! :D
There's nothing I like about this car...

The 1-Series Coupe was a great looking and cute car and now... this!?

1er hatch has always been kind of an "ugly stepsister" ... But 2er ... It could be almost perfect but they missed the opportunity. The front is great, the side profile is great, I even like the rather robust interior ... but the rear. Heaven help us!

Now, can you imagine a 2er GranCoupe with that "elegant" rear. I don't. Thanks God it's not coming ...

I always had the feeling that something must be less than perfect, it was just all too good and the problem is, it's a 2 series, a relatively low end model that costs much less than its bigger siblings, problem is it probably drives better! so again what you do? Make it look less mature, less proper and suddenly the 3 and 4 series looks much better. I remember Scott saying this resembles the E46 rear sorry but the execution on the e46 was a million times better. Also the E82 had a much meaner back end too.

I think, given the cost difference as well, the 1 series is a better choice.

I like the rear - the whole thing is elegant and right-sized. I'm still a believer, and can't wait for a 228 GC with MT and M-sport.

The rear looks fine to me. I rather like the lights, both front and rear, though I do wish the front lights were even slimmer still.

Yes, this car made me appreciate the F20 for the first time :D
The F20 is something that looks like sh*t... the 2er is nothing but still manages to look like sh*t...
It's a real pity that the last RWD compact BMWs have to look like that while they drive so good...
Embarrassing!

The front is indeed very well executed. I find the rear to be more or less acceptable, but the M Pack is a must,as is the case with most bm's now a days. Overall I like the way it looks.

I have to give it to EnI. The rear is not ugly per se, but neither is beautiful. The M Pack will make it stand out more, for sure.

Here's my assessment...it looks more than acceptable, IMO. But if it can recreate an E30/E36/E46 experience, the BMWs that defined BMW to me growing to me, it can look like a pile of puke and I'll still probably would love it.

I am, however, curious to see how much it weighs....I remember going to the LA auto show and was surprised how close the 1er and 3er were so close in how much each weighed.

I like it. I am quite satisfied with how this one turned out, given that I am not a fan of a significant percentage of BMW's current line-up. The rear lights don't really bother me and I really dig the overall proportions.

What I can't get over with is the interior. It doesn't look on par with the exterior design, and if you really think what Audi and MB offer in similarly priced segments, then you really wonder what's going on at Munich.
