Re: Next-Gen Porsche 911 (998) Carrera Cabrio Spied for First Time

That looks yummie  The back in Huck's chop looks fabulous! Love those narrow backlights...
Did he make a chop of the front too? I'd love to see that as well :eusa_pray

Re: Next-Gen Porsche 911 (998) Carrera Cabrio Spied for First Time

klier: the front is above at Misha's post. me 2 I love those narrow rear lights, In general I love narrow lights (front or back).

I believe Hassan might be on to something here, judging from the new wing at the back I think the car will have its engine mounted closer to the center. So no more Cayman being better handler than the 911.

Awesome! Much more 993 than 996/997.

Just saw the news on TV!! Bad news… This happened last night. The Porsche test driver was killed in the accident…he lost control over the vehicle at high speed and hit the guardrail on the autobahn. :(:(

I sooo cannot wait for the 998. It's going to be a true dream machine again, with matching looks. The 997 doesn't cut it anymore. The interior in particular. I sat in the 997 Turbo cabrio today, the the interior is simply crap, I have no other words for it.

Have you been at the presentation of the facelifted 987 today?

Edit: Like the 997 Turbos interior if it's full leather.

Yes Pekka, and say a prayer before you grab the steering wheel :D

I'm not religious, Giannis. But I'm sitting lower right now.

That might explain why it was so busy at the dealership :D I did see the facelifted Boxter there, yes. Looks good!

The Turbo is full of leather, but there still is a lot of cheap plastic, ugly buttons, terrible looking dash, doors that feel like Playmobil when you open them (apart from the plastic doorhandles) and that retarded clock in the middle of the dash....I really honestly utterly dislike it, even though I want to love it. A VERY poor interior for a car that costs € 250.000 here (!!!)

However, I just know we will relatively soon return to the beautiful 993 era, and finally get rid of the 996 clone that is called 997. The 997 should have been called the 996.5

Had the same feeling when I saw the 997/987s interior for the first time. Fortunately everything turns good when you turn the key .

I'm still in love with the 993 (almost bought one instead of the Cayman) and I love it's old school interior. Hope that ths 998 / 988s interior will be classy again (although the first spyshots are not too promising http://www.germancarforum.com/boxst...-gen-2011-porsche-boxster-caught-testing.html). But let's wait and see. The Panameras interior is also much better than expected.

Yeah, that's absolutely true. Everything changes then, and the interior becomes nothing more than a side-thought when you're actually driving the car....I was thinking that exact same thing when I sat in the Turbo cabrio yesterday.

Hot linking doesn't work with globalmotors. But damn the car is growing in size, looks way meatier than the slender 997. I certainly hope that it won't lose any nimbleness.
