The Porsche 991 is the seventh generation of the Porsche 911 sports car, produced from September 2011 to December 2019. It was unveiled at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show on 15 September as the replacement for the 997.

Classic....hard to tell the differences at first. We must be getting really close to the official showing! The interior is going to be the bigger difference this time around I think, and of course the powertrain...moreso than the exterior styling. Though I do see some 993 (the best 911 ever) in the styling.

Some more of the blue one...

The rear bumper looks a little bland with all that empty space, but I guess once the model designation is stuck on, should look better.

The rear bumper is horrendous, hopefully it's just a disguise. Also hoping for the rear lights to be connected like 993.

Found two great chops from the past, and cleaned them up a bit with all the details from the new spy shots (all credit to original owners). Thanks to Carreradesign @ Teamspeed and Wildspeed

The yellow 911 has no rear window cleaner, whereas the blue does. Also all the Cayman spyshots show the 981 also has it. Will it be an option? I hope so. I really do not like the rear window cleaner.

It's an option. Even in the 997-generation. And in the Panamera-models as well.

simple , nice and clean design here.

Hmmm. Is there a pop-up spoiler in the veign of the Panamera? The Panamera's is just cool. When you are behind one on the autobahn and you see that thing begin to operate , it looks as if is about to transform into a robot or something.

It seems like with every evolution of this car, it gets better and better and better.

I remember seeing the 911 growing up, and they looked so classy, refined, and ultimately what porsches were supposed to look like. Through the years I have really liked what Porsche has done. Sure, there have been some complaints here and there, but this is shaping up to be the best looking 911 thus far IMO.

I'm somehow not completely digging those last sets of pics. The proportions are almost Ferrari like now, and less 911.

It's probably effective cladding. Time for the final car now! Badly want to see it...

Conservatism redefined. I Can't say that I did not see the evolution on the horizon but I am particularly amazed by the sheer preservation of the car's purity. No panamera-esque creases on the doors. To the naked eye it looks umistakably like a 997 but it's true beauty can only be appreciated in the metal. Given the lower height and chunkier body paired will evil rear LEDs the car is bound to look badass on the roads
