it says on the AUTO EXPRESS review that there will be a 3.0 diesel and the 4.8i petrol, what happened to the 3.0 twin turbo petrol with a rumoured 340+bhp????? eni, scott, tycoon, all u guys, any word???

Weren't the test cars for journalists powered by the 3.0-liter TT? Would be very weird if it didn't go to production.

They don't know what they're talking about. The life of the current NA V8 4.8i is almost over. I am pretty sure the X6 will not have this old engine. The 4.0 V8 TT sounds much more likely.

Well let's hope the BMW Press Team actually produce some nice photos, because they sure have a tendency to release some pretty average looking photos, especially the car's colour.

Fingers crossed the photos change my mind, because at the moment I'm not all that impressed or in love with the X6..

I thought it was going to be a 4.4 litre V8 bi-turbo.
Scott mentioned in another thread that it will be N64B44O0 which makes it a 4.4 litre V8.
There is a strong indication that the X6 will not have the 4.8 litre V8.

Definitely not taking a shot at you Scott since you're a highly valuble member here, but I'm not going to blindly and endlessly defend BMW just because they are BMW. There are some things which I don't like about BMW and some of their vehicles, so I'll criticise them for that (of course with my reasoning to back up my opinon).

BMW have had a tendency to release fairly average press photos. The new M3 looks a whole lot better with the 19" wheels, yet the first press photos had the 18" standard wheels. The M6 Convertible was presented with that 'Sepang Bronze'-like colour which didn't do much for the car. Furthermore, the facelited 7er press pics had the MOST unflattering angles used. Only the press pics which came in the following weeks did justice to the car's great looks.

The X6 is going to look aggressive, and is going to be something new for BMW.. so I'm hoping they do justice to this new model. Like I said, I'm not much of a fan of the X6 at the moment, so I'm hoping press photos will sway my opinion in the other direction since I still admit I am a BMW fan.

Or it could be that you have beautiful children, however the photographer has a problem with adjusting the lights and the camera to produce nice pictures.
