X6 Spy Pics: X6 SAC Production Car (part 3)

The BMW X6 is a mid-size luxury crossover SUV by German automaker BMW. The BMW X6 is the originator of the sports activity coupé (SAC), referencing its sloping rear roof design. It combines the attributes of an SUV (high ground clearance, all-wheel drive and all-weather ability, large wheels and tires) with the stance of a coupé (styling featuring a sloping roof).
Wow, it's kinda funny when you think about a car of that size and weight being tossed and flung around enough to get its big rear wheels off the ground.

hey ENI, TYCOON, SIKO and all your guys! im wondering if anyone knows if the x6 in production will premier in the LA MOTOR SHOW??

Some reports indicate that the production X6 will be shown this January @ NAIAS (Detroit). Eni would know better though.

LA will be all about the One. :)
But it's very possible X6 ActiveHybrid Concept will be there as well.

Production car X6 is scheduled for Detroit, NAIAS. Production starts in December 2007, PR is to be issued in November (M3 cabrio in December - but they could swap them as they've done it several times).

:t-cheers:

If the X6 is rumored to have a V8 and a V10 option available, what engine option does that leave the X6 M version to have?

Does the V8 X6 production also starts in December?
Anyone know the specs on V8 engine? I have read both 4.2 and 4.4.:t-hands:

The BMW X6 is to debut at the NAIS along with the 1er Cabrio.
The media will get to drive pre-production prototypes and give their thoughts about the X6 Concept Cars. The media programme for the X6 is commencing at pace as I have returned from Paris overlooking a shoot of freerunners and stunt bikes. It's all to do with X-hileration. we are going global with this one with visual imagery, (we had two helicopters with cameras chasing the car!) exclusive links with extreme sport personalities and equipment and exclusive web content.

scott27, any information about the engines being test driven?? the review by autocar is tomorrow, but im really eager for any word.

LoL, one BMw dealer in Gotheburg has already gotten 8 pre-orders on the X6 :D

No price, no final product yet. I just find it amusing people are in a hurry to order new cars :D
Haha
this first cars will sell itself like hotcakes, believes me.
so its no risc for customers, the cars are torn them from the hands
and if they wait till official Start, the delivery takes ages. see like M3

Yeah. With new popular cars the waiting list can be as long as 12-18 months if you place an order right after it was launched. That's how it was with the Volvo XC90. Porsche dealers around the world have had people placing order for a Panamera over a year ago. If you want to be first to drive a spanking new Ferrari you have to place an order 1-2 years before it's even out.

Now to an important question. When will the X6 debut? I had the impression that BMW was going to unveil the final deal this month?

I just can't wait to see BMW's U.S. sales numbers once this X6 and all the different variants of the 1-Series are all on the ground. Isn't the new 7-Series due for the 2009 model year also?

Hold on..It's possible to pre-order this car even before it goes into production? Where? And who is doing that, actual customers or dealers? You're saying, I can walk into a BMW dealership and put my name down on some waiting order list?

No. This whole thing about pre-ordering is a bit misleading (at best). What people are doing is telling their dealer that they want to be the first to be able order one when the actual order bank is opened for a new vehicle. In other words a waiting list for the waiting list. "I want to be the first one on your list when you're able to actually order one from the factory" is what people are saying/doing. No dealer in the U.S. has any hard ordering information (colors, options, engines etc. ) on the X6 just yet. I don't believe the order bank for the 1-Series has even opened up yet, but of course dealers have "waiting lists" with names of people who want to be first to either get one from the first dealer shipment or they want to be the first to orders theirs when the vehicle shows up in the dealer's order system.

People have put down deposits and added their name to waiting lists for cars like the Ferrari 599 Spider, though we know such a car doesn't even exists yet.

The real "pre-orders" are the ones with paid deposits and colors/options picked already, this group will get their cars first. Them and the people who are willing to take any unit in the first few shipments that aren't already sold.
