Inevitable grille discussion:

The 4er's grille with the border and vertically oriented graphic is just too much. On the other hand, the M3/4 does a better job not having a bordering trim and using horizontal slats, non-traditional they may be, to emphasize width and to give it a more squat, hunkered down look.

The 4er could have been very aesthically pleasing if not for that front end.

I've actually quickly "digested" the grill and now find it quite acceptable. My "problem" with the 4er is the "slabish" character of its' flank (lack of) sculpturing. The car can look "doughy". Like a chubby kid.

My eye is immediately drawn to the Shark in the background...

I noticed that BMW 6er, but it had such nasty, horribly ugly plastic non-BMW plastic hubcaps on it which ruined the look of the entire car. :(

Lovin' that China Blue G and that blue Merc wagon. That Conti has such presence, I think the Mulliner edition had a beautiful aviation-inspired machine-finished aluminum interior trim. That 575M looks cleeeeeeaaaan.

My younger brother, whose hobby is "fixing-up" old cars (I'll go short of describing it as "restoration"-but the cars run and pass required inspections), had a P5 Ford Taunus 20m 4 door sedan about 10-11 years ago. He found it in Alsace just over the border to France. It was owned by an elderly gentleman who hadn't driven it for about 15 years. My brother repainted the car in the original factory color, dark grey roof over a light grey body. The car was mechanically sound and required little work otherwise. He kept the car for about two years before selling it. Quite the "time machine" and a lot of fun.
