WARNING: +100 pics in this thread
Hey guys! Been trying to make this thread for quite some time. I was fortunate to attend the Top Gear festival in Johannesburg a few months ago. Most of the pics below were captured by me and some by a friend of mine. Here goes
1) Schedule for the weekend

2) Arrival at the Palazzo Hotel in JHB the night before:

3) Spotted a Matt Black Giulietta in the parking lot.

4) Went out to have dinner with some friends

Lovely ambience at Monte, as usual

5) Walked around for a bit

6) Bumped into JC, Hamster and Captain Slow, really cool guys.

7) Woke up the next morning and bumped into Stirling Moss in the lobby.

8) Eventually made my way down to the Kyalami circuit which was bustling with activity

Ferrari parade in progress

The trio arrived shortly after (Not my pic)

Top Gear Ice Cream truck vs E92 Supercharged M3

I started off with a brief tour of the exhibition stands.

9) Place was packed to the brim

10) Next on my bucket list

11) Facelift GTR

Like the subtle improvements with the interior

12) Altech’s track demon GTR

13) My first up-close encounter with the IS-F

Typical Bland Lexus Interior

14) Finally, the A7 Sportback! Car definitely looks much better in the flesh

19) Nice set of wheels

20) Awesome 3.0 CSL restoration project underway by one of the local tuning companies:

21) More old school ///M

22) The SLS which was driven by JC and the Stig earlier

Plenty of worked GTR’s in the hood

23) PERANA - South Africa’s first mass produced sports car. Designed by Italian coach builder Zagato, assembled locally in Port Elizabeth

Interior

24) Drift Experience on the skidpan

25) Tiff Needell and JC on their way for the next show:

26) At the redbull Pit

Coulthard tearing it up on the track

27) The Celebrity race
Sabine making her way to the track for the celebrity race (not my pic)

Sabine, Derek Bell and the Scheckter’s

Stirling Moss to lead the race in the Classic gullwing

Coulthard makes his way to the SLS

And Sabine to pilot the Ford GT40

28) At the end of the first lap, it was pouring cats and dogs - Coulthard was leading in the SLS. What a brutal noise this car makes!

29) One of the greatest moments of my life, seeing the GTR and the F40 tearing past in all their glory!

30) With all the downpour I had no choice but to head back indoors and check out some more exhibition stands:
A few supercharged E46 M3’s

Also a supercharged M3 CSL – Heartbreaking to be honest

And a couple of supercharged S65 M3’s

31) A private collectors Ferrari’s

Not a fan of the colour scheme but still Epic!

Loved the options on this clubman

C63 GTS

People gushing in for the evening show

And finally, its show time!

The stig arrives in what appears to be a taxi but actually a Lancier Evo underneath the body

And finally, the 3 amigo’s arrive in typical TG fashion

A challenge awaits, 458 vs SLS on Dyno’s wired to 2 gigantic blow up dolls

Next was a challenge involving kombi’s (minivans) to terminate rats(remote controlled)

Next on, was some really edgy precision driving in the sexy Renault’s

Next was a carjee jump

And that was all that I managed to snap from the show, however I also managed to get VIP tickets to the Top Gear After party where I met Jeremy, James, Richard, Sabine Schmitz, David Coulthard, Tiff Nedell as well as Stirling Moss once again. Excuse the crappy phone pics

And then finally after that I headed out for Armin Van Buuren’s live performance of A State Of Trance #500

Pretty good night over all, that’s all folks!

Did the Van Buuren show include in the Top Gear event?
