Hmm.. Zonda Enzo and GT are more expensive?

In Sweden CGT cheaper than SLR, the rest probably more expensive than both.

For the track I rather take a C63 PP or CLK63 BS becuase hopefully they have less weight than a SLR. (I dont need to have the fastest car , just the more enjoyable one)

Dude, nice words but can you back it up?
Nonetheless, SLR is still overpriced and SL65BS can to the same things a SLR can for less money. Enuff said!

the SLR outaccelerates it. acceleration is a huge part of the goals of a car with 670 hp and 740 ft-lbs of torque and in that department it gets beat.

as for lap times, there are not many for the SLR. just the SportAuto and Top gear ones from what I know. in the Top Gear times the SLR is quicker but when it comes to the sportauto ones something is fishy (keep in mind I am referencing the euro spec 65BS not the US one, the US one is significantly heavier) they say the SLR is slower than an R8. now I havent driven them, but from times posted and driver testimonial, the SLR has CGT/LP640/599 levels of acceleration and the R8 is no quicker than an M3. the SLR also has the better brakes. so unless the wheels of the SLR came off during the corners, it shouldnt be getting outlapped by an R8.

from the owners that have really explored the performance of the SLR, all of them say the brakes and acceleration are absolutely world class and the handling is fanstastic.

im sure we will have SL65BS vs SLR tests from the mags in the future, but as it stands the SLR wins in acceleration, rarity, and weighs 400 lbs less than the 65BS so its probably more agile as well.

I saw them next to one another inthe Toronto Autoshow and the SLR was on another level. wider, lower, sleeker, more aggressive, and more unique. in terms of aesthetics, the SL65 looks like a SL with a body kit...infact, it is an SL with a body kit.

Then we wait for those future tests. I'm not convinced yet. I still stand with my previous statement, SLR is overpriced and its just another fast Mercedes with a beautiful exterior.

and Top Gear change driver just like I change underwear everyday ;)

Here is the good news...When Mercedes-Benz gets blamed for the SLR so does McLaren. I think a lot of people forget who actually worked on the car and the full name of the SLR.

If it can't turn right it's McLaren's fault. ;)

Gordon Murray had his vision for SLR but Mercedes didnt let him do what he wanted. MB wanted the SLR to remain a Mercedes. Mclaren F1 was built long ago before Mclaren was working together with Mercedes so I dont get your obession with the car, Mclaren F1. I think there is another thread about Veyron and Mclaren. Anyhow, there been rumours for a long time that Murray want to build a new "Mclaren" but I have no idea what's happening but that belong to another thread.

There's no comparison, 722 all the way :t-drive:
I don't care about performance, I would always prefer a beautiful, classic 'car' over an ugly 'monster'.

Wow...

Very badly said, performance is everything with cars like these!

And the Lambo is not ugly!

Personally, I'd rather have a car that's the pinnacle of the madness and excess that is synonymous with Lamborghini than a car that's the pinnacle of nothing at all.

I have to disagree with you both those car is not only about preformance
it's about the best experience..

When car magazines run some tests and how fast does that and
that who cares in the real life?

I wouldn't notice the difference among many supercars if their bodyparts
where ripped off and logos/emblem was hidden.

Okay so the SLR maybe 0,2 second faster to 60 and
the lambo 0,2 sec faster in a particulair corner
and I am no race driver I would probably loos against The Stig on the top gear lap If I was driving a Murc SV with ESP off and He was driving a Audi S5 cause I can't drive at supersonic speeds on a track I would probably
spinn the car around and enter the grass in hammerhead.

Cars like these IMO are about the adventure & experience you have
while driving one... you know driving a Zonda Enzo SV 722 at 80 km/t
must be fabolus ? at least I felt like 50 cent with co-piloting the SLR...

To me the Sound and styling of the SV is extrodinary cause
you woun't find it on any other car..
It looks insane and not organized what so ever..
and I don't like a steeringwheel coverd in a bathmath ? lol...
Hehe..

:) I actually find the SV "ugly" but in a different and positive way..
and as I have staded before the SLR are for those rich people
who never ever in their entire life would considere a red A6 / 5series / e-class
they only drive black/black/black or black/sliver/black
people with less emotions they got feelings but lack that last emotion
of beein extrodinary (but maybe they dosn't need to feel that way)
I don't know...

So, the Lambo finally got the significant lead, she deserved! :t-cheers:
Huh? It's only got 5 votes more after 73 votes and at 53% vs 47% it's hardly a significant lead.

If this were a presidential poll then we'd be in for a recount in Alabama.

Gcz (imo) is more drought & severe place for polling! Even more, when a Merc is involved as a candidate! :D

POLL results, let me guess: BMW, Audi, Porsche, Lamberghini, and Ferrari fans all voted for the Lambo, ofcourse its going to win the poll race, i was surprised the SLR even had a lead !!:t-hands:

Actually by US presidential election standards, 6% is a huge margin if not a land slide. In 2000, when the recount happened the spread in popular votes was less than 0.5%. And in 2004 which is considered a clear win for Bush the margin was just 2.4% and Obama's huge win was just 7.3%. Even Regan's landslide against Carter in 1980 and Bill Clinton's landslide against Bob Dole in 96 was < 10%.

I think there is a huge difference between 6% difference of a few people and 6% difference of millions. Statistically speaking, the higher number of people is more accurate than 35 people. :t-cheers:
