It seems much cooler to buy one of these to take it out on Sundays, than the occasional Ferrari or Lambo, I would pay anything and even let them hit me with a broom

Probably priced that way because it was a pre-production car, and therefore "rarer". There's a similar mileage example, in black, on 4Star Classics for £90k.
