A7/S7/RS7 Should Audi release A7 Coupe and Cabrio

Now that BMW has a full 6 series line up with 2 and 4 door coupe and cabrio body styles maybe it is time for Audi to work on A7 coupe and cabrio. If Audi wants to improve it's image versus that of BMW i feel it really should offer these cars.

Absolutely. The very only thing one can critisize about the A7 is the shape of the roof. If Audi makes the inverse transformation process than with the A5, the A7 Coupe can be a real looker.

Yes yes yes and YES!

Everytime I see the A7 in a rear view mirror, or from the front on the other end, it looks freaking amazing!!!
But when it passes you with that ass, you go OOOOH NOOOOOOOOOOO.

Put a Coupe shape on that body and you have the most beautiful car in the world. End of story.

I do not know when or if a coupe and cabriolet will be released or made. I hope that Audi will make both. You would have thought it was part of the A7 product portfolio with adaptability already designed into the platform and the potential for increased profit margins from the platform. However it is never that simple. I have not read anything concrete it is just speculation unless anyone has any definitive information?? Audi working on a lot of product right now. Perhaps we will hear something next year.

Who knows Audi may make a four door cabriolet out of it? :)

Excelent renderings.

Unfortunately I am afraid Audi will be to slow to act and the Cabrio model will never see the light of day. At least before the new gen A7 is released probably around 2017

^^ you never know with Audi. They sometimes have a habit of suddenly releasing a new production car without a single spy shot!
That's the shock and awe approach...

I thought this part of Audi's future plans anyway

Precisely. That's why they call it A7 Sportback, because the A7-Line is not only four-door coupés*. I don't see news about the E-Class Coupé... do this car worth the effort? I guess the CLK lost its appeal since the end of the C208 in 2003. The C209 will be remembered only by the hooligan's version (63 AMG Black Series). Loved the sound of the M156 engine in this particular version though.

* I see as an upscaled sedan. Four-door coupé is Panamera/Rapide style.

Well S7 is already out (quicker than usual for an Audi S car). RS7 already arguably spied so Audi not following traditional release procedure for model line up. So perhaps A7 Coupe, S7 Coupe, RS7 Coupe and the same for Cabriolet. Who knows..?

I would speculate that Audi will preview a future larger traditional 2 door coupe/cabriolet in the form of a concept car at a major auto show venue sometime this or next year. Perhaps based on Audis' current A6/A7 MLB-Evo underpinnings. Or as an A9 concept car. Audi CEO Rupert Stadler has alluded to the mulling of such models in several published interviews.

However this car, may turn out to be next S-class coupe/cabrio rival, rather than 6 series rival.

A9 coupe sounds like a great plan. Americans will dig it and the rich Chinese even more so.

Nah. 6er GC and CLS are proper sedans. Nobody can possibly argue that. The A7 and Panamera are hunchbacks, and no sedans. A four door coupe means nothing, everybody appears to call a car with four doors and sporty roofline a four coupe these days. BMW does it with the X6, which isn't exactly a coupe....and of course the 6er GC, which is a proper sedan.

Another segment Audi are not apart of. Although VAG compete with Bently Conti here but still space for Audi you would think with the difference in price.

Audi

Audi AG is a German automotive manufacturer of luxury vehicles headquartered in Ingolstadt, Bavaria, Germany. A subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group, the company’s origins date back to the early 20th century and the initial enterprises (Horch and the Audiwerke) founded by engineer August Horch (1868–1951). Two other manufacturers (DKW and Wanderer) also contributed to the foundation of Auto Union in 1932. The modern Audi era began in the 1960s, when Volkswagen acquired Auto Union from Daimler-Benz, and merged it with NSU Motorenwerke in 1969.
