Worlds Fastest and Most Powerful Coupe

730 hp / 537 kW of power, 1,320 Nm of top and a top speed of 340 km/h: With the BRABUS SV12 S Biturbo coupe based on the latest Mercedes CL 600 model BRABUS presents the worlds fastest and most powerful coupe.

At the heart of this exclusive automobile is the BRABUS SV12 S Biturbo engine. It is based on the turbocharged Mercedes 600 twelve-cylinder engine and represents the most powerful street-legal V12 engine in the world. Installing a special BRABUS crankshaft with longer stroke, combined with a bigger bore and correspondingly sized forged pistons, increases displacement from 5.5 to 6.3 liters. Further engine modifications also include precision-machining the cylinder heads and fitting them with four special camshafts.

In addition the engine peripherals are also modified extensively. The modifications include special exhaust manifolds, two larger turbochargers, a high-efficiency intercooler and a high-performance exhaust system with metal catalysts and low back pressure. Extensive bench tests determined the new programming for the engine electronics that not only maximizes power yield but also ensures that the engine meets stringent Euro IV emission limits.

Performance figures of the BRABUS SV12 S Biturbo displacement engine speak volumes: A rated power output of 730 hp / 537 kW at 5,100 rpm is just as extraordinary as a peak torque of 1,320 Nm at just 2,100 rpm. In the car peak torque is limited electronically to 1,100 Nm.

Power is transferred to the rear wheels via a modified five-speed automatic transmission. The optionally available BRABUS locking differential optimizes traction. All BRABUS drivetrain elements are operated with ARAL high-performance lubricants.

The BRABUS S V12 S Biturbo coupe is not just the most powerful; it is also the fastest street-legal of its kind. 0 100 km/h in 4.0 seconds, 200 km/h after just 11.9 seconds and an electronically limited top speed of 340 km/h are all without equal.

The enormous performance of the BRABUS SV12 S Biturbo coupe places exceptionally high demands on the aerodynamic-enhancement parts that were developed in the wind tunnel. The sophisticated shape of the BRABUS front apron reduces lift on the front axle and improves engine and front brake cooling due to its large air inlet. Integrated fog lamps and high beams lend the car a characteristic appearance and further improve active safety by optimizing illumination of the road.

The BRABUS rocker panels optimize the airflow along the sides and feature integrated entrance lights for safe entering and exiting of the vehicle in the dark.

The BRABUS rear apron sports custom-tailored cutouts for the BRABUS quad sport exhaust. Three LED lights integrated into the apron are also activated via the keyless fob. An understated rear spoiler rounds out the sophisticated BRABUS aerodynamics concept, and reduces lift on the rear axle for further improved directional stability at high speeds.

The enormous performance of the BRABUS SV12 S Biturbo coupe is kept safely in check at all times thanks to custom-tailored solutions for tires, suspension and brakes. Among them are BRABUS Monoblock light-alloy wheels with diameters of 18, 19, 20 or 21 inches. The largest tire/wheel combination features BRABUS Monoblock VI and E wheels in sizes 9Jx21 in front and 10.5Jx21 on the rear axle. The largest corresponding tires are size 265/30 ZR 21 in front and size 295/30 ZR 21 in the rear. BRABUS recommends Pirelli and YOKOHAMA high-performance tires.

The BRABUS module for the standard ABC suspension is specifically calibrated to these high-performance tires, and lowers the ride height of the two-door by some 25 millimeters. For further optimized active safety the BRABUS SV12 S Biturbo coupe can be equipped with the BRABUS high-performance brake system. Maximum fade-free stopping power is provided on the front axle by 380 x 36 millimeter discs and 12-piston aluminum fixed calipers. The rear features 355 x 28 millimeter discs and six-piston aluminum fixed calipers.

BRABUS also fulfills any requests imaginable when it comes to exclusive interior options. The list of products ranges from scuff plates with illuminated BRABUS logo or an ergonomically shaped sport steering wheel to an exclusive customized interior crafted from soft yet durable BRABUS Mastik leather and the finest Alcantara.

The BRABUS SV12 S Biturbo coupe can be ordered as a complete car starting at 178,980 Euros or can be built based on an existing current CL 600 model.

Brabus SV12 S Biturbo Coupe: In Detail

This car is off the charts in so many ways, the look, price, horsepower, torque...you name it...it just has too much of it. Utterly Ridiculous, but its only money right? Does anyone know how many cars Brabus sells a year?

M

Actually, 178k Euros is less than what I have been used to expect for a Brabus vehicle, although I'm not up to speed with the conversion ratio in dollars.

This car is indeed off the charts, but I would gladly have retained the AMG body kit and simply taken the upgraded mechanicals--aerodynamics would be off the whack, though.

If the Mercedes CL600's standard 510 horses aren't enough to appease your deep-seeded power cravings, BRABUS has announced details of their newest mind-numbingly-fast entry in the land of Mercedes tuning - the SV12 S. Based on the CL600, the SV12 S is being billed as the world's fastest and most powerful coupe, and while I personally can't vouch for the statements, the SV12 S's 730 horsepower; 1,320 Nm of torque (at 2,100 rpm); 0-62 mph time of 4.0 seconds and electronically-limited top speed of 211 mph are without question in a supremely-elite league of performance figures.

As for how BRABUS accomplished the impressive numbers, engineers began by increasing the CL600's V12 displacement from 5.5 to 6.3-Liters by use of BRABUS crankshaft with longer stroke, a bigger bore and correspondingly-sized forged pistons. Next, BRABUS added a wealth of aerodynamic components, including a redesigned front and rear apron and side skirts, to provide additional down force and brake cooling at high speeds. To improve safety and handling attributes, a BRABUS module for the CL600's standard suspension lowers ride height by some 25mm, while a BRABUS high performance braking system provides necessary stopping power. And last but not least, BRABUS addressed the interior of the SV12S, with highlights including a sport steering wheel, scuff plates with illuminated BRABUS logo and BRABUS Mastick leather and Alcantara components throughout.

If you're interested, pricing for the BRABUS SV12 S starts at EUR 178,980 for the complete vehicle, while existing CL600 owners can also opt for any or all of the above-mentioned performance upgrades.

Enjoy.

Re: Actual press release

fog lights again.....

Noted. Really blows the whole package, doesn't it?

So, what you're getting from Brabus is a negligible bump in performance for boatloads of money. AMG already pushes this car to its outermost limits - with CL 63 already hinging on ridiculous . Anything more is just chipping away at an iron barrier imposed by the CL's girth, weight and configuration.

Re: Actual press release

about how many cars they sell
surprisingly with their ugly packages and extreme prices after AMG they sell the most..
if you search for all tuners on a german used car site..
you will find most hits on brabus.. and thats not like 1 or 2 more..
its like 100 cars more than any other tuner..

Some people just are flushed with money. :t-banghea

Which I suppose is the only reason why Brabus is still in business after all these years. AMG has plenty of brag-factor, but their products have genuine credibility. Brabus, on the other hand, seems to be making vehicles for the sole purpose of being outlandish. What the cars actually do seems to be more of a side-show than anything.

I guess another factor is that AMG has now taken things so far that Brabus, in its old form, is becoming almost redundent. Who needs more power and "unobtanium" when AMG is already pushing extreme ubermodels models whose own raison d'etre is very questionable.

yeap I don't understand why they don't kick out those damn fog lights, at least they should make some design changes

I vividly recall the days when Brabus made very handsome, classy looking cars. They've gone down the junk / bling tuner path for some reason. Pity.

I totally agree with the idea that AMG have upped their game so much now that there is little need for an additional tuner on top of the official tuner. I think what Brabus are going for now with their incaration of the CL600 is just a bit of marketing and the hope that lower spec models will sell due to the "pedigree" of their flagship model. I think there is something to be said for the years testing etc that goes into a production AMG car, so when they decide to limit the power to well below 730 break, its for a reason. By the sound of the "mods" on the Brabus CL it sounds like a completely new car especially in as far as the engine is concerned...just leaves wondering if this car is any better than the standard CLs in terms of driving experience and the like.

the very definition of overkill. But if Brabus is making such a car it means that there is a niche market for such a monster.
In my case, even if I had the money, I wouldn't looking for something like this, but I'm sure others would

Perfomnace figures look really nice on paper..but what with real life performance??I mean,do you really need a 1100 Nm ot torque and 730 HP onboard this car? What is the point of that:t-crazy2: ?My God,it is not a Ferrari or Porsche..

I don't like Brabus designs with those stupid four fog lights in the bumper. I really like AMG design (nothing too extravagant but enough to tell you it's not an ordinary Benz) while Brabus is looking more and more like those Fast and Furious Japanes crap.

I mean whats up with that under the side skirts lights and lights in the back - just stupid.

I never used to like Brabus, like all of you I hated those front fog lights!

But when I saw my first Brabus models in the flesh at the Frankfurt motorshow 2005 I must admit I really liked them! All the cars on the stand were black, and all looked awesome, especially the CLS, which I feel in love with!

Yeah Brabus stole or borrowed that color from AMG. AMG used to be black by default in the 80's and switched to silver in the 90's.
