Genesis G90 Second-gen Genesis G90 Revealed

The Genesis G90 is a full-size car manufactured since 2015 by Genesis, the luxury division of Hyundai Motor Company. It is the flagship model of the Genesis lineup. A four-door sedan, the G90 is the successor of the Hyundai Equus and was known as the Genesis EQ900 in South Korea from 2015 to 2019.
Looks better than the german rivals from the F-segment.

It's the most polarizing car in the segment for sure. That rear door/pillar area is going to take some getting used too, but I am intrigued by this car. C&D is saying it has the same 375hp V6 from the GV80/G80. Needs a modern V8.

I strongly suspect that fit, finish and material quality will be superior to that of its' German competitors. Not to mention reliability.

They are playing hard...
I'm not a fan of the dashboard design, but other that that I like it ver much. Elegant, yet modern and quite bold design.

This car has a hugely impressive-looking interior. Ok the dashboard is not that different looking to the German opposition except for the strange wings separating the 2 infotainment screens, but it has some nice touches. I especially like the center console with the metallic knurled look switches and rotary controls with glass backlit that reminds me of old 70s HiFi controls. The steering wheel is an unusual design, not sure if I like it. I think Genesis made this interior have a familiar look to the German competitors so they would feel at home when driving the G90.

The seats look fantastic and the pleated leather with different colored beading used looks as good as a Bentley Flying Spur seats. The pleated leather padding is used on the doors and even the side of the center console as a leg pad!!!

One thing that really standouts for me and is a shocker when I compare this interior to the W223 S-class, this Genesis does not have any components in the interior that look cheap, unlike the S-class which uses tons of cheap looking shiny black piano plastic for trim and door switches and has visible plastic headrest mount on the front seats, this car only has wood, metal, and leather on all the interior components. NO SHINY BLACK PLASTICS anywhere!!!

The S-class interior is a lot more minimalist with fewer controls and switches. The G90 interior looks slightly more old school but it somehow looks more luxurious with finer attention to detail than the Mercedes interior.

Comparing the Genesis to the S-class:

The interior is only safe, with a little of what the three Germans did and do, it is not original at all, but it is at the level which is meritorious, although it is clearly noted that the S class is a more modern and unique design. , the 7 and the A8 are the Genesis thing for 6 years, but with all that said I maintain it is very luxurious and at the level.

The dashboard reminds me and is perhaps on purpose of the American cars crown victoria cadillacs etc.
The most distinctive point and its real value is in that exterior and if the price is good also in that interior.

Where they have the S-Class is in the use of buttons and that driver's gauge cluster/treatment. I HATE that stupid little screen Mercedes plopped up there. Mercedes' wood treatment looks more opulent like a yacht and I like the Mercedes' seats better, but this G90 is a worthy competitor in design if not under the hood.
