Here's the ultimate front-engined supercar, a car that makes a Mercedes SLR McLaren feel aloof and clumsy. Quicker than an F40 yet a hundredth as frightening, the 599 GTB is a towering achievement, a new benchmark and the fastest-accelerating car we have ever driven on the road

Thanks for the link Just_me, still a bit worrying that again the steering was singled out as being too light, even if only initiallly. John Simister's been around though, so I trust what he has to say about the "connection" with wheels.

Another fabulous right-up. F599 is truly living up to the rich heritage of Ferrari. And it looks better every time.

I'm all for this car, but I just wish I didn't see so much Supra in the lines.

I have no doubt about its superiority to every other car on the road of its type, I just wish it looked a little more like a traditional Ferrari, i.e. more distinctive. That said I'll hold off final judgement until I get to see it in person.

These last two pictures say everything about the target customer. It's blurred, but it's either the Ceaser's palace or the Mirage (Vegas bitch farms).;)

I'm already starting to become infatuated with this car ....it looks spectacular in silver.

Great article, very extensive if not as technical as the edmunds review.
I didn`t read anything negitive about the SLR though as indicated, (unless I missed it)

This is the same site that gave us that crappy review of the magnificent W221 S65. Thay only provided mouth watering photo. What a shame! That article should have been as extensive as this one.

Looks good, but a Porsche Turbo will more than match it over a mountain road and int he wet, forget it. Also, the example tested by 4car had a number of quality issues...

"...but there are a few snags that may well have been confined to our early test car (chassis number 165 according to the prominent underbonnet plate). The handbrake wouldn't hold on a hill without a huge tug; the electric window switches were easily displaced from their mountings in the doors; there was a buzz behind the driver's head; the seats creaked; and a rubber bonnet seal became displaced as we reached the limit of our speed-daring on the autostrada near Maranello..."

As someone said earlier, more traditional ferrari lines would have been nice but all I see now is loads of corvette c6 and other american stuff. It does look quite cool in silver though but other angles don't seem to be that forgiving.
