I see that the A8 and 750i were the swb cars, what about the S500? Was it the long or short version?

M

All three cars had the same versions

It`s not the controls themselves that Im talking about, it`s how they are designed. (This includes I-Drive!) the design of them is not intuitive, this needs improvement.

I didn`t say the controls are confusing, it`s just the psychicological feel I get behind the wheel I don`t like. The controls are not ready at hand like the Mercedes. Thats my take on the matter.

Well you'll be pleased to hear that the new S got simular complaints in the previous AMS. They said it was a little simpler than I-drive ( which one may expect after 4 yearsof study ) but that it's still not intuïtive and that the lack of radiocontrolls bugs them.
In conclusion, they said it was a great car, better than the previous model but not as good as was hoped for. Some things, like the ride, were beter on other cars. They mentioned the Phaeton as one. That was also an S500

Audi always wins because it offers more for the money, not because it's better.

That's not true. Give the A8 a more powerful engine and raise the price. It will win more points for performance and acceleration , loose points cause of the price and still win. A8 wins cause it's the best all arounder. It's at the top or nearly there in every aspect. :usa7uh:

Klier is right. It seem like the A8 gives the most value for money and that the S-class is the best one if you can afford it.

Yeah. And 7-series is ... just there. Existing. For no reason. :t-banghea

A customer decides what's the best for him - by purchasing a product.
For someone it's A8, for another 7er, fore somebody else S-class. It's just impossible to say that one car is absolutely the best in all aspects.

The 7er doesn't seem to be bad at all, it's just that it isn't a good luxury cruiser as the S-class. Eventhough it is up to the customer to choose the S-class is technically the best luxury cruiser. Unfortunately something in life a better than others and nothing can change that.

Show me in the article where it stated that the A8 won because it was the best "all arounder" not because of price...and why the S-class got second...

LMAO! The Audi wins because it makes up 28 points by the price, this is seriously STUPID! If you want the best you should be ready to PAY for the best!

Check it!

Edit: Seriously, I want to know how much Audi paid Autobild. :t-hands:

The S500 wins over all until price is factored in:

A8 / 750i / S500 / Out of.
Test result 423 406 432 500

Wow. Thanks for the link man.

S-class: Best car.
A8: Very good car at with a good price tag.
7er: Good.....................*silence*

I just went through most of the pages in this thread and I can't believe the amount of BS that went around. People drew most if not all of their conclusions from a copied page that showed performance of a luxury vehicle (LOL) and terrible translations. :t-crazy2:

Thanks for the translation bumman.

That makes sense, the MB is the best car overall, but the price counts against it significantly, as I expected. But at this level, most people will be willing to pay more for the S if thats the car they really want.

Thanks for clearing that up bum-man! :usa7uh:

And yes Artist the King is still alive! :t-roses:

Rik, I`m busy as hell! I only have a few seconds here I`ll reply to your post later.

Well, I don`t think it would please me that the S got complaints for the new Command system. Any new technology just introduce to the market would take some getting use to in the first period, so thats typical. I personally found the system more intuitive and user friendly than I-Drive!
Mercedes didn`t design this system on there on though. The cell phone company Nokia played a major part in designing the Interface for CommandIII.
I think thay have done a fine job of it. There was a direct link for CommandIII
I believe the site is down at the moment. You could actually see this whole system and play with it`s full features!
