Samsung Galaxy S III sales to top 10 million

Got my S3 2 weeks ago and i can only say: there's no better phone out there! Compared it to 4S, HTC, Lummia and others and i'm definitely sure it's better than any of those. I also know several people that switched from their iPhones and Nokias to S3, 'cause it's simply better. :D

When I read your first sentence, my heart froze for a few seconds. It took me a few moments to realise that you didn't actually buy an Audi S3 :D :D

Out of all German brands, I am most interested in Audi. They seem curiously special and different. Sadly I haven't driven or even ridden in one yet...gosh I'm burning inside!

They can't win 'em all (though they have been winning plenty lately).

I know better than to read comments sections on Yahoo News. ;) Subhumans seem to reside there to express only disdain, resentment, and contrarian/sarcastic views. Apple, just as any super successful revolutionary has garnered many haters to go along with the lovers. I learned a while ago that the haters of them, as usual, are the ones who find the time to hit up the comments sections.

The "comment" section is where the people, the real general public, voice out their opinions. Since many don't trust mainstream media outlets, articles and videos, the Comment section is the one of the few places online where you can observe genuine opinions of real people voicing out.

Samsung is no different and I am sure it also has haters just as much as Apple does...but that article's comment section did seem to be one-sided....Perhaps you should spend more time learning everyday people's opinions rather than superficial articles and asinine outlets that don't always voice out authenthic fallacies.

Please man, I wasn't born yesterday.

Youtube comments, Yahoo comments, etc., all are full of the most vile people usually. Most people don't go and write in comments sections to avoid those crazies.

There are probably a lot of Apple fans who hate Samsung, but Apple fans seem to not enjoy going on Comments sections to rip apart those who copy Apple as much as those who support copying Apple like to rip off the innovators.

Humans by nature like to play contrarian, are into building something up then ripping it down. Apple has revolutionized the modern world! Of course there will be passionate hatred and misunderstanding towards them, it's just how humans work.

People who go onto Yahoo boards probably don't understand the dynamic behind how a business works, and why it's so important to defend your work and keep those from copying you.... otherwise if they do, they wouldn't be defending Samsung's piggy-backing business model as you said that they are.

And what are "superficial articles and asinine outlets that that don't always voice out authentic fallacies"? Firstly, that makes no sense and it's contradicting itself. Also, the articles I post state FACTS. The "comments section" you refer to is the worst way to defend Samsung's replicating business model. If that's all Samsung's got, some Yahoo's who don't know what really is going on, then they're in trouble.

I would agree that many comment sections do have vile people...yes the INTERNET is the devil's playground...

but those Yahoo comments weren't vile...they were just people voicing out their opinions. Do you take every single negative opinion that easily? Are you hypersensitive?

People are mad about the hypocricy and subtle cunning of Apple...especially how it always blames and sues it's competitors when Apple does exactly the same...they just hide it better. Apple knows Samsung is their number 1 rival. And guess where does Apple buy like most of it's equipment/tech? :)

The ones here who prefer Samsung over Apple simply do because we just do. None of us are piously insulting the other contender as much as you do. Some of us prefer Samsung and some of us prefer Apple. I prefer Samsung vs Apple while you prefer Apple. I personally liked Nokia's glory days and even T-Mobile but recently it seems gloomy.

Apple is great and all but I wouldn't for a second worry for Samsung. Not now, not ever :)

Why are you such a pious pro copycatter? Don't like creating much? :D

I don't worry about copy-cat infringements or lack of creative ability...plenty of our kind who excel at it...Thank you very much :)

Everybody does it, some are just better at hiding it :)

What bothers me isn't people liking Samsung products if they do, it's delusionally acting as if they don't deserve what Apple is throwing at them. They have followed Apple's lead in every which way when it comes to mobile/gadget/computing tech. I've read many of those who support their copying ways to know what the Yahoo comments sectioners who support Samsung would say.

People are sheep, and they naturally will get threatened when they perceive a "big guy" to go after a "little guy", which is what Apple is perceived by some anti-Apple's as doing right now. In reality, Samsung is a REALLY "big guy", and it's getting bigger by piggy backing off the ideas of what was initially the "little guy": Apple. People generally don't know any better, and they generally won't study what patents Apple has, or the timeline of Samsung's releases and features to Apple's. Nor will they know that Samsung's own CEO has changed around products practically openly admitting to doing so because Apple did it better before they could.

It's written on the walls, but many won't read it, and will take it at face value. Therein lies why many people perceive Apple is trying to "shut out competitors by backing up its patents". It's ridiculous to think that they shouldn't back up what they brought to the table.

Fact is, Samsung's getting rich off of Apple's ideas, or Apple's forming of the marketplace. Apple just wants their fair share. ;)

As for investing. I'm not emotionally invested into any brand. I'll sell right away if I perceived them to be "losers", and I'll buy Google stock if I ever assumed Google will generate enough revenue to give them hyper (dollar, not market share, as selling a generic/free software to anybody who doesn't want to pay up isn't a good business model IMO) growth in the mobile business.... but I'll still buy Apple products as long as I still enjoyed them as much I as currently do.

That's an interesting fallacy. Although there are multiple angles to it....I think the same could be true the other way around.

You say Samsung gets rich off of Apple's ideas and formation of marketplace. Trust me, EVERYBODY steals and ripps off each other. The great John Lennon once said something about great artists 'steal' or something like that...I forgot the quote but hopefully somebody knows. But remember, Apple also needs Samsung too (like I repeatedly tell you).

So perhaps it's a win-win kinda of thing....kind of a two-way street...maybe that's why Apple and Samsung are such fierce rivals....

Whatever dude...I am just so curious whether if Nokia, T-MOBILE and Microsoft make a huge comeback...

it seems Apple and Samsung are the only ones at the head of the game at the moment...to be honest.

Well, I'll give you one thing.... you used "fallacy" in the appropriate intended context this time.

Of course, Apple knows Samsung is a threat which is why they're pushing their cause to protect themselves from them. Realistically, the world is big enough for the both of them to keep getting incredibly rich. I wish I could at least invest in Samsung in the U.S trade, for a reasonable price per share. I love the idea of buying a stock you believe in, and then lightly loading up on their competition to protect yourself.

I have NOTHING against *inspiration*. Artists do it all the time, I am a compilation of my life's influences. However, what Samsung are doing shouldn't be mistaken.... they are taking Apple's lead and running with it, they would never admit to it, which is the very definition of inspiration (give props to those who inspired you). This is cold hard business and dollar catching.

Apple hire Samsung's talents to supply them, but that's a job that Apple hires Samsung for, and pay them for. It shouldn't be confused with Samsung's creative and product side. Apple could of course threaten to take their business elsewhere (which I believe they've started to as these things have gotten more and more heated).

It's Apple's and Samsung's game right now, but yeah, you never know, Nokia, Microsoft, etc. can always creep up. As crazy as it sounds, this incredibly lucrative "segment" is still in its baby-phase.
