The Bugatti Chiron is a mid-engine two-seater sports car designed and developed in Germany by Bugatti Engineering GmbH. It was manufactured in Molsheim, France, by French automobile manufacturer Bugatti Automobiles S.A.S.. The successor to the Bugatti Veyron, the Chiron was first shown at the Geneva Motor Show on 1 March 2016.

I've never cared for the interior of super car / hyper car this much up until now. Watching the above posted interview with Mate + the video done by the Triple F guys on YouTube, there's one commonality which is the shared word for word excitement for the interior. So far, the people who have seen the car or worked on the car all describe the car's interior as next level. Exact words mentioned are "New features and tech never ever seen in any car, stuff that people didn't think you could even put in a car". At this point I got no clue what the interior is going to be but genuinely curious about the interior as much as the exterior. The excitement is killing, hearing that the Chiron replacement has a blend of Mistral + Divo look to it.

I wonder if this has to do with the infotainment screen solution. Bugatti is well aware it's the displays that date the interior the most. And besides that, having a smudged black touchscreen rectangle is unbecoming of a high class environment.

Bugatti played with infotainment on two of their concept cars, Galibier and Atlantic. But none of those presented ideas seem optimal to me.

In this podcast from 2021, Achim Anscheidt (former director of Design at Bugatti and current senior advisor to Mate Rimac) hints at possible ways of having an infotainment that isn't just an ugly screen.
So maybe that "never before seen tech" could be related to this.
Talking about longevity there and future generations of cars... When we speak about interiors, it seems like almost a competition at the moment of who has more screens in the interior.

So especially for a brand like Bugatti, I would venture to say: Could there also be a different approach? What's next after that? Screen technology, for example, really makes a car date very fast. How can we have the same amount of information, but displayed in a different way? Or displayed on material, so to say. Does it really have to be a real screen? Or can we display information in a different way? Even other than head-up displays?
Those are interesting thoughts I think, for the Bugatti brand. To not follow the total mainstream and also being aware what a couple of screens around your dashboard really do to the appearance of the car and the brand per se.

Of course, they could have gone the same route as Zenvo and make the screens convertible, but that one isn't quite as radical as they're describing it.

I like those two solutions (each thing in its time and space), the gold edge gives it a certain elegance and is in the background of the wood, the second one looks more sporty, very original and luxurious at the same time.

No surprise here. The more premium brands will stick to analog, and the lower brands will have an interior full of screens.

Back to the drawing board for Mercedes and Porsche. Chinese inspired interiors are not premium after all....who would have thought?

Maybe an actual projector displaying a screen on surface somewhere. Cameras could be used to track finger movement to make it function as a touchscreen. These latest projectors are tiny and produce amazing 4k images.

I can't think of much else to be honest.

Exactly, the fact that its challenging to think of what everybody who has either worked on or gotten a presentation of the car for is so abnormally excited about interior wise makes it quite the challenge to speculate what Bugatti came up with. Like others mentioned above, the overall DNA despite any update or redesign for Bugatti's interior is always to keep it something that will still look functional and modern 10+ years from now (resale values -> branding)

No surprise at all. Particularly if you know the hands behind the previous two generations. Ultimately we've seen it's been seen it's under

his design direction from around 2004. This is his final car. - I'd expect nothing less than Pagani rivalling even Pagani beating.

If anyone can it'll be him and Frank and the rest at Molshiem, where the project is rumoured to have been 100% run from- although I'm sure Mates definitely had something to say being it's "his" or they're first.

A front engine mage coupe with the interior for the Caliber would toot my horn.

Chinese inspired? I think it's more Model 3 inspired, central screen, no analogue controls, the Chinese and eveyone else followed along.

The best implementation is the Xiaomi SU7, it has the central screen but with real buttons underneath it.

Youtuber MKBHD posted this on his Instagram stories, looks like a teaser of the successor with a very analogue looking gauge cluster that goes to 550kph.

Hopefully this means will get some sort of teaser soon!

FFS, why this guy?! Just stick to phones, lol.
Not hating on the update, of course. That part is cool.

Can anyone decipher that scribble on the item?
Is it Pour l'éternité?
He's done alot with the Rimac Nevera so I guess this is next.

Is something as radical in design expected as the move from the Veyron to the Chiron?

He works with TopGear (website/magazine) and has covered the Nevera a lot.

There's very little value in his car related articles. I'd rather read Jack Rix before this Johnny-come-lately tech guy. That's how little I think of him.
