Chiron [Rumors] Bugatti Chiron Successor

Post number 199 has been selected as best answered.

The Bugatti Chiron is a mid-engine two-seater sports car designed and developed in Germany by Bugatti Engineering GmbH. It was manufactured in Molsheim, France, by French automobile manufacturer Bugatti Automobiles S.A.S.. The successor to the Bugatti Veyron, the Chiron was first shown at the Geneva Motor Show on 1 March 2016.

Even though it's not fully under VAG's umbrella, I figured they'd source the new Lambo-created V8 destined for the Huracan successor, but a W16 will keep it interesting.

Perhaps this chatter of a V8 is for another Bugatti model line similar to the Atlantic concept that was a victim of the fall-out from Dieselgate?🤷‍♂️

Decided to put all the known photos together

There seems to be a preview event of the car in Dubai, I noticed that several posts about the car are tagged with #br1, my guess is "Bugatti-Rimac 1" as in the first car with the two companies combined. The post is also tagged with #v16, confirming the engine as we've read from others.

Previous post about the car in Nov 2023 with the same tag #br1

I wouldn't like the car to leak before the official unveil because that would ruin the surprise/eventful unveiling but the anticipation is at the peak, even though I'll never afford one 😂

(I obviously have way too much time on my hands..)

Mate did say it'd be shown to select individuals. I'm assuming it's been shown Stateside too, no ones said from there obviously it's their biggest market!

But as for leak, the engine configuration confirmation would be enough, but again assuming the rumours are true I've not heard anything about Cosworth!

I also remembered that I once saw a post with an modernized open wheeled Bugatti Type 35 that reminded me of the silhouette of one of the cars that is under the covers, after searching a while I found it with this translated caption:

"Her beauty remained hidden from the world for five years. Four-wheeler brought her back to the eyes of all. It was designed by an Italian, a true icon of Made in Italy, but the truth is that few cars have become true gods like her. Like the Bugatti Type 35, which boasts in its sporting record more than 2,000 victories on track and road and is reborn today thanks to Walter De Silva’s happy hand.

Design by: Walter De Silva, Tancredi De Aguilar, Alessandro Dambrosio"

Apparently this is built by a company named "Uedelhoven Studios, a respected but publicly unknown German engineering company that has secretly been building concept cars and prototypes behind the scenes in Bavaria for several motoring giants for decades. These have included BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Mini, Hyundai, Rolls-Royce, Koenigsegg, plus the entire VW Group, including Bugatti with its stillborn Galibier four-door saloon prototype of 2009." and this car was presented to the VW group.

I just hope BR1 stays a hashtag and doesn't replace the EB nomenclature.

Do you guys think they will use EB and number on this (like with EB110) or will they add a Bugatti heritage name to it?
Bugatti has this list of legendary race drivers on their website:
  • Bartolomeo "Meo" Constantini
  • Louis Chiron
  • René Dreyfus
  • Ernest Friderich
  • Eliška Junková
  • Pierre De Vizcaya
  • William "Williams" Charles Frederick Grover
  • Jean-Pierre Wimille
  • Pierre Veyron
IDK about you, but I don't see any clear candidate that has the same zing to it, as the two already used names.

ALSOOOO, did you notice on the slide 1 and 2 the 16 lettering, the 1 is replaced with 16 cylinder with two 8 circle in parallel, literally a hint of a V16 from top view

Good eye! Didn’t notice that.

It’s the car on the top right corner, looks like an open wheel roadster and a silhouette of the Type 35.

This image was part of the Bugatti-Rimac formation announcement.

I remember it, it's wild looking. It's getting serious now.

I didn't realize this picture was that old (the source video is from January 1, 2022).
I took a 4K screenshot to get a better view.

If it's genuine Bugatti model, then Type 35 wouldn't make much sense. But considering they now have a V16 at their hands, it lends itself to make reference to Bugatti Type 45/47 with U16 engine. Of course, that is provided that the powertrain can fit in such a slender body without ruining the proportions.

Whatever it is, I hope it's not battery powered 1:1 version of one of these toys.

Also, that track focused Rimac, or whatever it is, reminds me of Quarkus P3 with that wing setup.
Proportionally it doesn't quite seem to match Nevera... this one looks like a much lower car.
Although looks can be deceiving. They could just put a different top structure on Nevera's monocoque at it would look totally different.

Info from TheSupercarBlog.com, not sure how reliable they are but here is what I noticed that is either new or has been said on this blog:

1. 8.3l V16 by Cosworth revving to 9k rpm and producing 1,000hp + 3 E motors producing 800hp for a total of 1,800hp (pretty sure this was from this forum).
2. Wider horse shoe grill
3. “P1-like rear end”
4. Analogue interior “more mechanical watch and less Apple watch” “Pagani like timeless design”.
5. Fewer than 300 built and offered to Chiron/Veyron customers have first.

1 Yes I believe you correct. They've previously quoted GCF comments.
5 I believe the vast majority (as you'd expect) if not all build slots are already accounted for completely. Like the Pagani Utopia, albeit from memory.

2/3/4 well, I'm sure actual pictures will turn up. Sooner than people think.🙃

Sounds like you might know something (I hope). If the rumors are correct the unveiling should be between March-April. Someone on GCF suggested it would be on Easter day which I believe is March 31st but who knows (other than @Jonathan19)
