It's crazy that it's China and not Germany regulating this stuff.
People don't want authoritarian governments regulating everything... until they do.

Nah, boring. It still looks like the current S-Class with just different front and rear. I wanna believe that W224 is going to be much more than that.first renders

I think Mythos Iconic creates a great foundation for the upcoming W224. Looks unique enough to distance itself from the current design language (with those side blades etc.)Are you longing for an interpretation of the Mythos Iconic ?:

While I can appreciate a good deal of it's bodymetal surfacing, the proportions simply shout "Nostalgia" to me. IMHO, "Nostalgia" is not the most sustainably successful business plan.
I don't know, this "iconic" is based on the Maybach 6 from 10 years ago and is an even more retro interpretation. I think, IMHO, that the quantum leap should be towards more modernity, so to speak.I think Mythos Iconic creates a great foundation for the upcoming W224. It’s still too early to comment though, we’ll see if it’s gonna be something disappointing or superb.
Yeah, I agree to a certain extent, but I don’t think Mercedes will present something drastically different design-wise. They tend to play it safe, but again these are just speculations. I hope it’s something worthy of S-Class name.I don't know, this "iconic" is based on the Maybach 6 from 10 years ago and is an even more retro interpretation. A company like Mercedes should make a bold statement.
Nothing will ever look as modern or futuristic as the concept vehicle it's based on, unfortunately.I don't know, this "iconic" is based on the Maybach 6 from 10 years ago and is an even more retro interpretation. I think, IMHO, that the quantum leap should be towards more modernity, so to speak.

True. The sclassis in a shrinking segment. Mercedes have nothing to lose by going bold.I don't see the next W224 S-class been a conservative design with links to the W223, as Mercedes normally make big changes after 2 generations of S-classes. This will be a new bold design for sure with major hints of the Vision Iconic. The interior is the part of the car that needs to really make a giant leap forward, no more cost cutting or built to a price look. There needs to be massive quality and build improvements with some exquisite materials used inside the cabin to make the S-class give the RR Dawn and Bentley Flying Spur a run for their money with its interior ambience.

Legacy matter less when the baby boomer generation who grow up cherishing luxobarges will, in 10 years, be too old or dead to drive an sclass.
