I knew the RS4 would be expensive but a little more than I expected.

Base price: 731.000:-
http://www.audi.se/mediadb/_files/user_uaudi/Audi_RS4-06_18355.pdf

Compare it to:
M3 E46: 559.000:- (I've been told the new M3 E90 will cost about 600.000-620.000:-)
M5 E60: 842.000:-

C55: 651.900:-
E55: 904.900:-

Cayman S: 595.000:-
Carrera: 774.000:-

Note: This is swedish prices.

The way I see it, M cars feel like a bargain compared to AMG and RS. But RS4 feels like a bargain compared to C55. If the new M3 cost 600.000-620.000:- then it will still feel like a bargain. Of course this is my opinion, I'm sure everyone dont agree ;)

Makes me wonder what the new RS6 is going to cost. I guess somewhere between M5 and E55/E63?

In Finland RS4 is 115 200 €

M3 Coupe: 92 000 €
M5: 134 400 €

C 55: 100 300 €
E 55: 149 000 €

Cayman S: 94 900 €
911 Carrera Coupé (997): 125 900 €

ps. I wish you swedes convert yourselves to euro.

731 000kr for an RS4!!!!!! That's like the price for a used 996 Turbo :eyebulge6. The car i defintely not cheap but it's going to be really intereting to see how much the M3 coupe is going to cost.

BTW I found this M5, it cost 729 000kr which is just a couple of bucks less than the RS4.

M5 did cost 829.000kr year 2005, the price is now 842.000kr 2006 in sweden.
I know people ordering the new M3 for a base price between 600-620.000kr. Cheaper than the RS4.

Im talking about brand new and not used ones.

Thinking about it the RS4 is a fantastic car and is probably worth the money but that's a really heft price to pay for such a "small" car.

worth the money - its in they eye of the beholder :) (or whatever the expression is)

Maybe ;) one thing is for sure, it does perform and is currently the sedan with best handling.

Maybe its the best handling, maybe not. If the Rs4 dont use R-tires in Sportauto Supertest then Im not so sure about it being faster than M5 around Nordschleife but RS4 has an advantage on smaller tracks such as Hockenheim due of less weight than M5.
Sportauto drove Rs4 around Hockenheim with R-tires in 1.15,8 min and they drove the M5 without R-tires in 1.16,5 min.

Best handling sedan? Maybe but I believe that depends on the track. Im sure there are tracks were M5 is faster and also tracks were Rs4 is faster. So how do we decide the best handling car :t-hands:

Handling is a car's ability to go around bend and corners and there for the best way of comparing cars handling is by testing them on a tight track. I wonder if the RS4 will ever be tested without R-tires.

I hope the do it like they did with AM V8 - both tracks with and without R-tires.

You think so? The RS4 is not my favorite Audi right now because the S8 is, but that is a huge amount of money... think about it, you could be driving one of the best Porsches ever made, the 996 Turbo for that money. It really makes you think. If this is the case, the RS6 is going to cost a small fortune, that's for sure. :eusa_doh:

731.000:- is like 73 100 Euro

Which is very, very, VERY, VERY cheap for an RS4.

Wish they were as cheap over here.....for €74.000 you buy a nice 3-series or 5-series in Holland

I find it ridiculous that in Both Sweden and Finland, the price of the RS4 is (in between but) closer to the M5, than to the M3. :t-crazy2:

RS4 is damn expensive.. not sure if its worth all that money.. seriously for that kind of money you can get some fine cars..

ohh and if this is how the RS cars will be priced it wouldnt surprise me if the RS6 is near 1million kroner.. or 100K euro.. and that is sick..
In that case audi played this very wrong.. firt they relese underpowerd S modells compared to AMG M cars.. wich cost a bit less.
And then they take even more time to come out with these RS cars.. wich cost extreme money.. i dont see this like a good plan imo..

There's the S4 which costs about the same as the equally-powerful M3. In Finland the S4 is €87100 and the M3 €90250. Audi's RS cars command a much higher price. The old RS6 Avant is still on the price lists for some reason and it's €150460 while the new M5 is €132400.
Audis used to be much cheaper than equivalent BMW's and Mercs but I suppose that having taken the number one spot in the luxury market they feel they can charge the same as the other two or even more.

The RS6 will probably cost around 20 000 euro more than the RS4. Add a few goodies and car will exceed 100k euro. Since the RS4 is so expensive i doubt that I'll ever get to see it here in Sweden.

There is very little doubt in my mind that the RS4 handles better than the M5. 420 hp in a much smaller car? Plus 60/40 quattro? Plus CF parts and NA engine?

No, RS4 and M3 both handle better than M5. That is only logical! Tires have no major part in that.
