Phantom Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead Coupé

Rolls-Royce Phantom forum covering all generations. Discuss new models, design, future developments, spy shots, industry news, technology, specifications, ownership experiences, and Rolls-Royce heritage.
Well back in the 1920s, Rolls-Royce Coupés were quite sporty and more youthful than the classic Rolls-Royces from the 1950s etc.

With this Boattail Silver Ghost from 1924 ...we can clearly see where the designers got the inspiration for the nautical theme of the Phantom DHC.

Hey Rob that is an awsome car, do you have any more info on it or a site where i can find pictures and stuff on it and other old rolls royces? Thanks man its always fun reading your posts comparing new cars to the older ones that i know very little about.

Hey audi-rudy, I posted some information Here. I am sorry I have not got more pictures. :t-cheers:

I think I love this car for real:

Who would have thunk it, me going ga ga over a Rolls Royce!

The craftsmanship and attention to detail is amazing. Shows that there is more to a luxury car than a leather reclining seat and and couple of LCD screens.

Lovely car, but I wish BMW would "organize" the interior a little better. The wood is great...but the buttons... nobs just seemed to be put any kind of way...

Really? I find the car to be perfect inside and out. Making it too symmetrical would make the car appear too Germanized.

Just looks unorganized...

Aston Martin....

No that it has to be so narrow...but organized.

Everything is so spaced out...

Previous Rolls did a better job....

I don't find the positioning of the knobs to be any problem and the overall appearance of the dash is very easy on the eyes compared with the Ghost, Bentley CGT and Maybach which all have very fuzzy center consoles. The Phantom interior does a perfect job encapsulating the word luxury, excellent material and decor with high ease of use.

Well it doesn't have to be fuzzy...just organized. It's a great car...but something about the interior doesn't have the "WOW" factor.

ouch thats a nasty purple..i love it:d
Purple and white..few colors go together better

That actually looks drop-dead gorgeous in that color combo! The black steering wheel center is such a good choice by the RR designers. :usa7uh:

IMO this car is hideous. Between this and the Maybach I'd need to be coddled in some indescribable Luxury to justify that price, considering the visual negatives to me.

Phantom and to a higher extent Ghost for me.

Where is the 'no cadbury chocolate inside the car' sign? :D

Stunning nonetheless that is how you customise your land yatch. A special colour for a special car.

Rolls-Royce Maharaja Phantom Drophead Coupe unveiled

Celebrating India with a Dubai-only special edition
Rolls-Royce has unveiled their new Maharaja Phantom Drophead Coupe.

Created exclusively for customers in Dubai, the limited edition model features a Carrara White exterior with an Emerald Green coachline and Peacock emblems which celebrate the national bird of India. The convertible also has a Deep Green roof which retracts to reveal an elegant interior and luxurious wood decking.

Speaking of the cabin, it has Crème Light leather and Emerald green accents. There's also embroidered headrests, peacock-inspired styling cues and marquetry inlay on the dashboard and arm rests.

According to Rolls-Royce, the model celebrates the Golden Age of the Raja when "India’s Princes and Maharajas collectively engaged in what is described as one of the world’s longest relationships with one automobile manufacturer." As the company explains, Maharajas purchased over 840 Rolls-Royce vehicles over a period of fifty years.

From our hotel.

This has got to be one of, if not the, biggest bodied coupés ever built...the door handle came up to my naval!

Also, as a collector of Lalique myself, I love the Lalique Spirit of Ecstasy. It doesn't look gaudy in person, but rather adds to the car's personality.

His openings are somewhat cheesy, but his reviews are very thorough.

That is why I enjoy watching them...they tell so much more than photos.
