Ghost Rolls-Royce Ghost

The Rolls-Royce Ghost is a full-sized luxury car manufactured by Rolls-Royce Motor Cars. The "Ghost" nameplate, is named in honour of the Silver Ghost, a car first produced in 1906. The production model was officially unveiled at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show. The Ghost Extended Wheelbase was introduced in 2011. During development, the Ghost was known as the "RR04". It was designed as a smaller, "more measured, more realistic car" than the Phantom, aiming for a lower price category for Rolls-Royce models.

Rolls-Royce reinvented. This is a punch straight into the face of Bentley Motors that also took the route of incorporating soft contours into their designs in order to attract a younger audience. What interest me now is the coupe version of this car which is the what RR should have brought out first. Living outside the London it might be difficult for most of you to grasp the popularity of the Continental GT. The car is absolutely everywhere here in London, it's almost become the VW Golf of upper premium luxury cars. On a normal day around the city you'll easily catch at least 30-50 of them. It's truly astonishing, especially when a new one retails for just under €200,000. Given the success of the Bentley CGT, BMW must sure have contemplated pricing the coupe version of the Ghost at a similar price. Because if they do, they'll have a major winner on their hands here in England where are the motor icons like the Range Rover, Mini and Continental GT are flying off the showroom floors.

Looks really great!! Very elegant…the Coupé version will be a true stunner!!

Looks stunning. Is there any specification of powerplant unveiled?Rumors says its only 507PS,far less than 544PS of BMW 760LI.

It's the same here in The Hague where I live, Conti GTs EVERYWHERE. Sure it's no London because it is not as big a city, but I see this car everywhere everyday.

As some said, a coupé version of this car will be brilliant. I haven't heard or seen anything about it yet though :(

Scott and Eni have hinted about it, and it would be logical move by BMW. The marginal cost for developing a coupe and a cabriolet is very low since all the underpinnings are straight out of the F01. This line of cars will be the cash cows while the Phantom line of cars are the brand ambassadors.

^ True, it would be a logical choice to make them ( or at least a coupé version, since a cabrio would still take additional development time)

BTW, a RR Ghost cabrio would be great competition for the Mercedes OceanDrive Concept too :D

I don't think it's a rumor anymore. Auto Motor und Sport claims 507 hp for the Ghost, and they almost always are right.
So, 507 hp V12 TT for the Ghost, 544 hp V12 TT for the 760i and probably the same all-new V12 TT with around 600 hp for the Phantom soon (???)

The interior doesn't stun but it's a solid blend of English and German aura, very much like the Flying Spur.

Not in a dream.

Ghost Coupe will be priced above the limo ... which will be on current Arnage level.

BMW officials said the max. production output for RR cars will be at approx. 3,500 units per year (all variants of Phantom & Ghost).

RR is not going where Bentley went under VW - with a bit high production for such a prestigious brand.

:t-cheers:

The official statement on Ghost name says:

"This car will be the first in a new generation of models to carry this evocative name ..."

So, there will be many Ghost versions available in the future. ;)

I guess exclusivity is the priority which is a good move considering how much Bentley and Ferrari are ramping up their production to a few thousand cars.
