Hmmm...however, it is quite a traditional feature found on many older coachbuilt Rolls-Royce's.

Bentley still offer a small rear window option for the Arnage.

Ewww...I can't stand that Roberto! Reminds me of a phone booth.

The Bentley GT is somewhat sporty... ok so it's a brick and it's heavy and it's comfy. But it can be still called a sporty car.

Now look at this Rolls Royce... just by looking at the steering wheel I can tell you that it's not sport. If none of you guys have ever sat in an RR, it's the size of an 18 wheeler's steering wheel. Not much of a lat support either. Anyway, my point is, this car is THE luxury cruiser, while the Bentley GT can do some laps around the track. Therefore... not really direct competitors

I agree that the new Rolls and Conti won't be direct competition. BUT don't think it will be less sporty than the Conti. First of all, the new Phantom was a lot sportier than everybody expected. On the other hand the Conti was a lot less. It's very luxurious, VW at it's best, but still a heavy bastard. and it can't hide that as well as the Rolls can.

No, my reason for thinking these aren't competition is just image. This coupé will outclass any coupé on the market. It's a rolls for God sake, next to ferrari the biggest name in the business. If people are even thinking of buying a Conti when this baby's on the market, they were never planning of buying the Rolls.

It's strane but when i see the car i don't feel it's a coupé but Cab with a hardtop.

Which means that this car was built for the purposes of traveling in not only style, but straight line speed, lots of it. So in the end, both the CGT and 101 EX are very much in the same exact catergory.

You have GOT to be kidding me. There is NOONE on the face of this planet who buys a Phantom or new Corniche because of the straight line speed, as you call it. The thought alone makes me giddle.

The Corniche is be twice as expensive as a CGT, twice as big and twice as luxurious.
Basicly, the CGT is an SLK and the Corniche is an SL.

That's because that's what it is: a showmodel of the new Corniche convertible, but with a hardtop instead of canvas roof to not totally give it away yet.

Exactly.

Maybe it's because the A pillar is not homogeneous with the roof and body like most other cars - but more like the A pillar of a cabriolet.

That's a very good point. I hadn't thought about the fact that a coupe, left to its own devices wouldn't have such an A-pillar. There's where the impression of a hardtop cabrio comes from.

I agree, A pillar is clearly made for a cab.

Wow I thought I was the only onw who felt this way. The first time I saw pictures of the car I keept on thinking about the convertible and even today the car looks like the convertible with a hard top.

I guess these would be the closet competitors - I'm sure the Maybach coupe will be based on the Exelero.

The Bentley Azure looks a little dated next to the other two - but it's still a beautiful car nonetheless.
