M3/M4 [Reviews] BMW M3 Saloon & M4 Coupe

The BMW M3 is a high-performance version of the BMW 3 Series, developed by BMW's in-house motorsport division, BMW M GmbH. M3 models have been produced for every generation of 3 Series since the E30 M3 was introduced in 1986. The BMW M4 is a high-performance version of the BMW 4 Series automobile developed by BMW's motorsport division, BMW M, that has been built since 2014. As part of the renumbering that splits the coupé and convertible variants of the 3 Series into the 4 Series, the M4 replaced those variants of the BMW M3. Official website: BMW M

I agree. In this video the M4 Cube sounds nicer than the other videos.

I thought this day would never come...

Interested read the Autocar review of both the M4 and straight away the M3, quite surprising that despite weighing 23kg the two cars post identical times on a lap of the ring though M Division's development boss Albert Biermann didn't state what those times were..... killjoy.

I thought it had already been publicly revealed as 7:50?

CSL times, 10 years later.
If you want to compare the F8x to the CSL just remove:
Air con
Sat nav
Sound insulation
Carpet
Electric seat adjustment
Sound system
Some cash from your wallet since the CSL cost more than the F8x even though it was 10 years ago

And most importantly change the tyres to Michelin Pilot Sport Cups semi slicks

What? I can find a CSL for around €40.000 (in my country, and F80 is from around 100k)

edit; ok, probably lost in translation \/ \/

ACE was talking about when the CSL was new. But I agree with him, it might appear that the new M3/4 has only caught up with the CSL but if you removed a lot of the luxuries and fitted similar semi slick rubber I reckon the new cars would be way quicker. What has changed in those ten years is that now there's no compromising on comfort, luxury, refinement or the environment to achieve the same and it's all done cheaper.

The Ms invade Turkey.

Yeah, and that was my point. Good job.

BMW M

BMW M GmbH, formerly known as BMW Motorsport GmbH, is a subsidiary of BMW AG that manufactures high-performance luxury cars. BMW M ("M" for "motorsport") was initially created to facilitate BMW's racing program, which was very successful in the 1960s and 1970s. As time passed, BMW M began to supplement BMW's vehicle portfolio with specially modified higher trim models, for which they are now most known by the general public. These M-badged cars traditionally include modified engines, transmissions, suspensions, interior trims, aerodynamics, and exterior modifications to set them apart from their counterparts. All M models are tested and tuned at BMW's private facility at the Nürburgring racing circuit in Germany.
