Not to derail the thread, but Seat has been performing decently financially - def not great.

Must say I prefer the Golf 8 over this one as the Leon seems to borrow too much from other brands rather than its’ own design language. At least the Golf is clearly designed as a Golf. Wonder if Seat can survive if cars become even more generic with electrification and will be purchased based on brand image and design only it seems.

..."with electrification and will be purchased based on brand image and design only it seems."

A very valid point indeed. Design will become an increasingly important factor.

Automotive designers must embrace the challenge of creating BEVs' that are visually pleasing to the broader market, presenting an aura of modernity while not appearing "too electric" and risk alienating a clientele averse to abandoning the tenets of more conventional, anchored in more established architectural proportions design.

Excuse my veering a bit off topic. Back to the Leon.

The new Leon looks great. It has some nice design touches such as the waste line curves, character lines in the sleek profile. The rear full strip LED lights and cursive font name tag are distinctive and classy.

I would go on saying that it is much more attractive than the Golf 8 and even has a nicer interior as well

I like this a lot. Much better looking than the new Golf. Looking forward to the Cupra version.

Thank goodness for the A-Class, 1-Series and Vauxhall. The corporate design of VAG hatchbacks is becoming more sterile.

The design looks super old, without any inspiration. I even see it similar to this Huyndai of the previous generation:

I must say... I quite like it.

You can say that again. Skoda, Seat and VW hatchbacks are looking increasingly characterless wi...
Yup. I like to call them mobility appliances. They tend to offer the same level of excitement as a house dishwasher. It's a shame!
