Sonata [Renders] 2020 Hyundai Sonata

The Hyundai Sonata is a mid-size car that has been manufactured by Hyundai since 1985. The first generation Sonata, introduced in 1985, was a facelifted version of the Hyundai Stellar with an engine upgrade, and was withdrawn from the market in two years due to poor customer reaction. While the nameplate was originally only sold in South Korea, the second generation of 1988 was widely exported.
They went full Audi....Never go full Audi.

There's elements of all 3 Germans in there. The roof line has whiffs of the C coupe, The interior is a blatant Audi rip off with BMW iDrive like integration of the central screen.

The Korean's have become an embarrassment in terms of design originality. I understand why the Chinese do it as they are still are a young developing industry but the Koreans should have moved beyond this by now.

I am literally shocked by this car design in a good way. It is fussy and controversial in some design elements like the front with those incredibly long DRLs and chrome strip on the bonnet and the rear also which looks a little like the Honda Civic. The interior looks good but it's a blatant copy of BMW I drive screen and a little bit of Porsche (door handles).
It certainly made me go wow when I first saw this video, much more risk taking in the styling in this car than any other Hyundai and at least its not a boring car to look at and to be in.

In terms of technology and ease of convenience this car is certainly on par with some German cars, Hyundai could be a force to reckon with in future, even the styling in some ways makes it look sophisticated.

When it showed us the new generation Sonata early this month, Hyundai promised it will add a turbocharged version to the lineup very soon. This is now happening at the 2019 Seoul Motor Show where the South Korean automaker is revealing the Sonata 1.6 Turbo.

Under the hood of the sporty sedan is a 1.6-liter turbo gasoline unit with four cylinders and a peak power of 180 horsepower (134 kilowatts). As standard, it will be mated to a six-speed manual gearbox, while optionally available will be an eight-speed automatic that will further optimize the Sonata’s “smooth and efficient throttle response.”

The Sonata Turbo will feature several design elements that will distinguish it from the regular version of the sedan’s eighth generation. There’s a distinctive new mesh grille which Hyundai calls Parametric Jewel, as well as air ducts beneath the headlights which channel air to reduce drag. At the back, you’ll notice a twin exhaust layout, unique bumper, and a small fixed spoiler.

At this point, Hyundai is not ready to release performance numbers for the Sonata 1.6 Turbo model, but we expect to hear more about the car at the upcoming New York Auto Show in April.
