There is something about Audi's new overly technical and cold interior design language that leaves me, well, rather cold.

The previous generation was more pleasing to my eyes.

S3 interior.

Unlike many, the current A3 interior always seemed to me lacking something, it is basic and boring in design and execution "I am like that, with a laizy appearance because I am entry level", the same happens to me with Q3.
I say this because I consider the interiors of the A5, A6 etc, the best

That's why I'm glad to see that the new A3 has nothing to do with the current one

Should look good externally. The rear may be a bit bulky and heavy handed, lacking the grace of the previous generation.

Funny how they got rid of the toothed lights on the A4 FL yet they appear on newer models and here once again. Audi is a little lost IMO.

Shame the interior is going to be overly technical and cold and lacking the character present in the previous generations.

Too bad they are getting rid (again) of the rotary controller. What on earth did they think this would improve driver practicality? I’d prefer this trend to go away even quicker than fake exhausts. Too bad as well on the less premium materials inside. Similar to A1 I suppose which has no edge anymore over the Polo.

Would love to see a non S3 car but my GAWD this is stunning. Hands down best looking in class. Can't wait to see official release.

The touch screen in the Q3, A1 and other VAG cars is easily reachable and has userfriendly short cut buttons. For some actions the systems are quicker than scrolling and clicking through menus.

Agreed. But speaking from experience, they can be distracting while driving. even more so than the equivalent I Drive MMI system.

Having the option of physical and touch controls is the ideal. However no manufacturer has pulled it off well and VAG are on a mission to tidy up the area around the gearbox.


My X3 has both a rotary dial and a touch screen. The touch screen is so far out of reach that I have used it less than 5 times.
