I'm still assuming that this Black Series will be the homologation for the new SRO GT2 class if Mercedes intend to join the series, but since everything this year became a huge mess in almost every aspect, I don't know if we're gonna see anything in that regard.

2021 Mercedes-AMG GT R Black Series Performance Numbers, Nürburgring Lap Time Allegedly Leaked
BY CRISTIAN GNATICOV | POSTED ONJULY 8, 2020 9

The Mercedes-AMG GT family will go out with a big bang, as the GT R Black Series is expected to launch as the swansong of the range that has been around since 2014.

A previous report has indicated that it might debut in China, at the 2020 Chengdu Motor Show that runs from July 24 to August 2. Now, another rumor claims to provide insight at the new model’s magic performance numbers. According to Fastabast, a Nürburgring taxi company, the 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine has been massaged to pump out 710 HP (720 PS / 530 kW) and 627 lb-ft (850 Nm) of torque.

The extra oomph, advanced aerodynamics and weight savings will apparently allow it to sprint from 0 to 62 mph (0-100 km/h) in just 3.3 seconds and on to a top speed of 199 mph (320 km/h).

To better put these numbers into perspective, we will remind you that the GT R Pro, which is the current range-topping variant, has 577 HP (585 PS / 430 kW) and 516 lb-ft (700 Nm), the same as the regular GT R. It needs 3.6 seconds to go from nought to 62 mph (0-100 km/h) and flat out it will do 198 mph (318 km/h).

The quoted source also claims that the GT R Black Series is capable of lapping the Nürburgring Nordschleife in just 6 minutes and 58 seconds, or 13 seconds slower than the Lamborghini Aventador SVJ, the official record holder. This is also a 4.6-second improvement over the GT R Pro, which completed the course in 7:04.632.

These numbers do sound realistic, but without official confirmation they are pure rumors, so don’t forget to take them with the proverbial pinch of salt.

The 4.6s lap improvment is 100% IMHO lame or not true. Probably tuned 700hp GT R could do 4s quicker and not to mention this with Cup 2 R tires and better aero and who knows what.

I think the two toned color is putting me off.

Possibly also the reason for the Mansory comparisons.

I don't like the effect on the 911 GT2 either.

IMHO the SL65 AMG Black series is still the best looking model to wear the Black Series badge.

This is the black series 100%
Look at the background - GLE 63s AMG, and two GLA AMGs, exactly the place and cars which RBR was reviewing before the S class MBUX introduction. He said that there is a 4th AMG car he can’t show, and then came a few sec official teaser of the GT Black series, which only told us which car it is, but clearly, this is the exact car RBR already made a review of and we are expected to see in the coming weeks.

But the Nurburgring laptime will be definitely faster. No way that this will be "only" six seconds faster than the PRO version...
