I trust Scott. I've seen many things he mentioned that been accurate.

So you feel there is truth to this no turbo in the US theory?

i just personally think its a mix up. :t-hands:

I don't agree, you really think that a compagny such BMW group will let an employee speaking about all its futureplans without any punishment or desire to stop him because he speaks in a forum ?! Tine i can assure you that this is not possible even in a dream !

I know that.
Hence I guess

1. he is a BMW plot pretending to leak the info secretly and illegally. The department gives him info they want to be leaked - to create a buzz in the net.

or 2. he is not a primary source from BMW, but have some remote connections in BMW; his info are a mixture of true info, rumours and pure imagination.

I quote myself

"BMW said that manual gearbox for the new M5 was only for the americans. BMW now changed their mind, europeans get is as well. Same thing will probably happen, turbo versions for both europeans and americans. At least I hope so"

Scott doesnt know everything so I think he sometimes guess. Of course everything he says isnt true but he know more stuff than most of us.

I vote for choice 2! Thank you.

Just_Me, i read your post, but where is the logical reasoning to not give all the regions a turbo? Image?!?! C'mon that doesn't make any sense, im just saying that its a hard comment to swing with, because there's no real reasoning.

This the most credible explanation for me.

I thought about this solution, may be he work for a supplier or subcontractor, but like i said before his speech contains too many errors and contradictions for a guy from this medium.

Just because Scott says so doesnt mean he is right. All Im saying, BMW seem to change their minds sometimes.

How could BMW deem a turbo engine not adequate enough for BMW enthusiast/owners in the U.S.? When MB, Bentley, Audi, Porsche, and others have used turbo's and or surperchargers? Now this idea really doesn't make sense... but then again it's not like BMW N/A hasn't made stupid decisions regarding N/A products before.

Latest info:

I'm forbidden to tell them. Cr...p!

:t-banghea  :eusa_doh: :angryfire :thumbdown :jpshakehe

PS: Scott is still a very trustworthy source. Believe me!

Thanks for the pic but the lights which the most important part of the design are still hidden from out widely opened eyes :eek2:

Yep, but the overall shape looks really really good! Especially the character line. I was afraid that the shape would stray from that of the current E46 coupe, but it looks like a 3er coupe should :usa7uh:

I hope they dont change the lights too much from the 3 sedan, those are very good looking as they are.

The proptions are really good for a car with a hard-top folding roof.

Thats what i was thinking.... didnt know it was to be a hardtop... nontheless great photos, very clean and fit looking.

The design integrity of the roof is absolutely amazing! I'm suprised at how good it looks despite it's various sections. On most cars w/ a CC roof, the gaps between the roof panels are quite large and unsightly. Though the fact that this particular car is black, I think even in Silver it would still look great. In this moment I'm proud of BMW for taking a relatively new trend and perfecting it, even though it's just the roof, I think any element of a car that is well constructed is worth merit.

*Put me on the list for this car, I WANT IT!
