Maybe its just_me but I dont see a trunk on the pic I posted. Looks more like a Compact rear. Could be the angle though :t-hands:

If it is compact, then the coupe can look only better than this. But i think it's just the angle...

:t-cheers:

I don't think it's the angle.... it sure does look like the rear has been compacted. That's the first thing i noticed with this PS...and secondly the 7er wheels.

If this is how the 3er coupe's gonna look, but with a longer trunk, ..then it's gonna be pretty good, ..although something just doesn't seem right about the rear in that pic. The lines are totally matching up like BMW's do nowadays.

Anyhow.. thanks for the post Just_me....!! :usa7uh:

Thought I'd add 2 more old Photoshops:

I like this PS. The way the rear window meets with the trunk sort of reminds me of the previous CLK.

I think the pics on Page 3 of that white prototype tells a lot... it surely looks great! beautifully shaped too..

I don't know what is telling you that it will have the number plate down at the bumper because it does not even seem possible with such a high trunk! The rearon the 6 needed it was its super bangle butt... but this one doesn't have it..

It seems like the rear bumper is bent in such a way that I don't think the rear plates could go there. It just couldn't look right. IMO, let's have something kind of similiar to the E90

Scott26 reports:

Interesting development is concerning the 3er Coupe. It appears that the licence plate will be on the bootlid after all - BMW covered the rear with a false metal panel and from a distance looks very real, to keep the spies guessing. Debate = maximum publicity.
However some models are testing a lightweight bootlid made of carbon fibre ( plate on the bumper in this case ) for a future development - presumably the M / CSL version but in reality the regular car is that red digital image you posted.

In reward for the 3er winning the scottish car of the year - BMW will preview the coupe to Scottish representitives on the eve of the ceremony. The car commences photography and film shoot on Friday in /censured/

Shooting has already taken place in Madrid and Munich.

The M5 touring was recently shot here :

I hope so cause I like it better than Autobilds version.

AutoBild's version (the last one) was M3 coupe. On that version licence plate was in the bumper - probably because the boot lid is made of CF.

Looks a lot better... can't wait until they show it officially, this car is making me lose a lot of sleep

Very nice rear..dont like the cut in the rear bumper though..but it looks promesing..

O wow,. those tailights are so well pieced together, would be nice if they put them onto the facelifted E90, whenever that happens...

It looks OK imo, not all that good and it doesn't look BMW...
Those tail lights looks a bit Audi-ish and a bit Ford Falcon-ish as well...

I really like that PS of the red 3er!

If, as it sounds like, it will be the new 3er coupe that would be great!

Those rear lights remind me of the rear lights in the 7er!

To me there isnt much left from the old days. So "it doesnt look BMW" thats been the case now since Bangle came, that is a few years back.

I think the rear lights look great and especially like that Bngle wasn't to excited when he drew them, otherwise they would have turned out crazy like the ones of the 6er and 7er.
