Pre-eCoty 2010 - the contenders?

Why am I not not surprised by Ferrari's intentions to manipulate the test? The company has a toxic culture of winning at all cost and not losing any cost. As brilliant as the 458 Italia is, I'm gald the GT3RS got recognised for it brutality and racing pedigree.

I suppose EVO just prefer's Porsche's way of making their cars over Ferrari, when two extremely different cars reach such a high level of performance, it is down to personal preference and Ferrari has gone for the high tech solution to assist the driver to get the best out of the car while Porsche decides to give the driver the maximum level of feedback so he can push the car to the maximum.

Folks, you have to read the full story. 3 of the judges (incl. John Barker) placed the 458 ahead of the GT3 RS citing its absolute efficiency and hyper-advanced tech as key contributors to the 458 Italia's near unbelievable cornering ability.

Im glad the GT3RS won. Fine specimen of a dying breed of true sport cars. Besides, looking at how many 458's have errupted in flames this year, Ferrari clearly have reliability issues.

Anyone seen this video of fellow member AdvEvo (Andre) tearing it up at the ring in his GT3?

I wanted the Lexus LFA to win, but hey they gave Lexus LFA's 4.8 Liter V10 "best engine of the year" and got all the best cars in the top 5 as they all deserve to be there and the article is so well written and everything so spot-on that it is not even funny.:t-cheers:

Lotus should put this engine into the new Esprit. No one really wants supercharged crap into their supercars, right ?

Yes, exactly. That would have been awesome. The engine would be perfect in the Espirit supercar. From what I know, Lotus on their part did try. Lotus attempted to negotiate licensing the 4.8 L V10 from Lexus. However, Lexus refused to license the engine and instead offered to license them the IS-F 5.0 Liter V8 with supercharger on it and Lotus accepted.

It is most likely because Lexus wants the engine to be remembered with the LFA or rumor has it, they have plans to build another car that will use the same engine/transmission.

Lexus schmexus. They don't even know what to do with that engine. They put it in a stupid car which no one is able to actually buy or afford, and which is beaten by cars costing half the price (SLS, 458 Italia, GT2 RS, etc). What a waste. Lotus on the other hand would certainly know what to do with it.

Oh, yeah, I'm sure they will ! I mean, it took them 10 years to develop the LFA, and when it was finally production ready they realised they can make no more than 500 units, and at a price no more no less than an Enzo. With the performance of an F430. ROFL. That said, after this unfortunate endeavour Lexus should probably leave the supercar bussiness to those who actually know how to build supercars, and stick with what they know best: boring luxury saloons.
